It has dissipated somewhat, but it’s still there!!
I think I was suffering two injuries at once, i’ve been doing Sciatic stretches and that seems to have cleared up the lower back issues, but the hamstring issue is still there. I now think it’s the hip, like I initially suspected, but the sciatic part was confusing everything. I’m sitting here now and I can feel a slightly pinching/shooting pain in the hamstring (only when I sit) I’ve been stretching them out and it has loosened some bit but I am still meeting resistance at the top of the glute when stretching, which I now think is coming from the hip.
I used a tennis ball against the wall yesterday to massage the area and the area just behind the hip, where the glute starts, was very sore.
Just when I was building up some fitness I am now back to square one… Your health turley is your wealth…
http://www.mobilitywod.com/
it is all here in terms of mobility exercises - worth paying for a month and seeing if it benefits you

That’s weird I was sure @Fagan ODowd 's suggestion of taking a parcetamol would have cleared your injury right up.
Seriously, bro I am also entering week 3 of my current lay off but hope to get the all clear to go back training from the osteopath on Wednesday-glutes and hammys still tight as your sister’s arse though.

piriformis syndrome is what I am suffering from-
Probably from doing a little too much too soon and weak hip flexors-

Tell me about it, bro. I tend to eat a lot of shit when I’m laid up too which compounds the lack of training. Hopefully I can ease back into a bit of running before the end of the week because there is a lot of good work being undone at the moment.
Tell me about it… I’m gonna have to up the stretching alright. A minor session in the morning and evening and have a big one during the day at the gym.
Foam rolling- Hip flexor stretches- Glute and hammy stretches yeah???
1 pal.
I’m eating an amount of shite out of boredom- I’ll be getting a few tubby, or Bandage, jibes soon enough…

Has anyone prescribed you hanging leg raises?
When back in action throw these in. Deadlifts a must as well. Flexibility always seems like the answer, but it’s usually lack of strength in a given area that causes the issue.
I’m still out. Any fitness is now long gone- Hoping to return next week for a couple of light sessions and to stretch the body out- It’s gonna be a great winter getting back into shape!! Bring on the cold and darkness.
I did this for the craic the other night mainly out of boredom and also because it’s the only exercise I can do presently- got to 1.30 and I was done and dusted…
Incline bench and wide grip pull ups; clean and press, and deadlift with bent over row; backward lunges with forward raise and hanging leg raises. 4x8 for all done as super sets. Fairly wrecked after that.
@Mark Renton @count of monte cristo, tried Bring Sally Up to finish, got to 2.54. Fuming, have to try again and finish soon. Bring it home Count…
