Football Manager

Ah jaysus donā€™t be posting that sort of temptation in here. Would love to play it but I know I would be up all night just playing one more game.

Messi not being misssed at all here.

Whoā€™s Nico the cdm? You must have implemented a serious set of tactics there.

Young lad only 17. Savage prospect.

I sold pique, countinho and Busquets in January to raise funds.

Iā€™ve Mbappe signed on a free for next season.

Unfortunately Sergio roberto has signed a free for man united for next season.

I signed rafinha for 9 million but got 3 million off that back due to a sell on clause.

Ya my tactics are very effective

Iā€™ll look to sell griezzeman, Pjanic and aguero in the summer.

Bastoni from inter is my number one target to improve my defensive. Iā€™ll also need two new fullbacks.

Dembele the next fucker to not resign. While I donā€™t really rate him if I kept for another season I could sell him for a nice few pound.

That the former Barca player? He still at that level?

From PSG. Heā€™s low wages, effective and versatile so he suits my squad. Iā€™ve four serious young midfielders in de jong, pedi, nico and gavi so I need an older head to help them out.

Youā€™re doing a serious job with them there.

The ā€œoptā€ tag on Dembele.

Does that mean you have an optional year to extend him? Or is that ā€œconsidering his optionsā€?

Heā€™s decided to see out his contract it seems.

I just won the FA Cup with Cambridge United on my first day wfh of the year. Our 3rd season in the PL, we finished 6th, our highest ever finish. Now Europe.

A friend of mine is managing Janesboro on FM 19 in an All-Ireland league. Managed to sign Anthony Elanga for the Boro.

Larne splashing big bucks apparently and have a Lithuanian fella called Martin Downey in the team.

Are you lads playing this on a commadore 64 or 128?

Just bought FM23 on the PS5 there. A brave new world for Football Manager on a gaming console.

Its all kinds of wrong not to be playing it on a desktop or laptop.

Does it match the PC?

Pretty much the same as far as I can see but more awkward to navigate around. Youā€™d need to plug in a mouse and keypad to make it more manageable. I havenā€™t played FM in about 3 years but it has 10 saveable leagues at a time so thereā€™s a nice bit of space on the PS5. I used to have about 5 saveable leagues per game on my old laptop.

This database would probably interest a few here. A modern day version of the football world from 1998/99.

I started a Republic Ireland career on FM23. Early days yet but I won the Nations League Group B ahead of Scotland and Ukraine. We finished on 13 points (6 points better off than Spock). We even won in war torn Kiev in a crucial game towards the end of the campaign. Weā€™ve since been handed a soft Euro 2024 draw against France, Northern Ireland, Armenia and Gibraltar. Smashed Gibraltar 10-1 with 4 goals for Evan Ferguson and completed a double over the North so we currently sit top of the group with 9 points from our opening 3 games. Assuming we donā€™t collapse against the Armenians we should qualify comfortably enough as one of the top two.

Will Smallbone has been immense in the CAM in my 4-2-3-1 gegenpress. Evan Ferguson has 7 internationals goals in his first 10 caps and Troy the boy is tipping along nicely. Itā€™s still only 2023 though. Louie Barry and some Garcia McNulty fella turned down our advances and Iā€™ve yet to hear back from 3 attempts to nationalise Liam Delap. I have however recruited some hatchet man from Stoke called Ben Wilmots. Capped him against Armenia in the Nations League just in case he develops into a top class defender.
