Ryan Shawcross injured Aaron Ramsey I’m fairly sure. You’re thinking of Johnson from Birmingham injuring Eduardo a couple of years earlier. Eduardo was a Brazilian born striker who ended up playing for Croatia. Same day that William Gallas cried on the pitch over a 2-2 draw.

Correct. I was mixing him up with Roger Johnson I think.
Roger Johnson and Scott Dann were a fine centre back pairing for a few weeks for Birmingham city.
They went unbeaten for a full 12 months at St Andrews between 2009/10. Had Joe Hart on loan in goal for a good chunk of that run.
