Further Things That Are Wrong (Part 1)

How is that even news? Sad obviously, tragic no doubt, but worthy of a piece in the paper of record? What does it achieve?

More failure by the CFA.

Would you rather paedophilia was covered up?

Iā€™d rather it was dealt with by the authorities.

It shines a light on the abject failures since creation of the CFA. in fairness the times has been down in the district courts reporting on childcare for years. The only time you get real action in these types of cases is when the light of publicity is shine on the CFA

Thatā€™s not what you asked or said. You asked what it achieved. Iā€™m sure people in the locality would like to know there are people drugging a young girl and bringing her to a hotel room.

A very peculiar stance I must say

Fair enough. Incredibly sad that it takes that.

In the locality of Dublin? Thereā€™s girls like this all over the country is the truth of it. Mild mental issues, from dysfunctional family backgrounds, mixed with more severe mental health and substance abuse issues. The wonderful world wide web beckons then to open communication with all manner of exploitative freaks.

Good point , itā€™s bloody tragic for that kid, some start on lifeā€™s journey- drugs and drink have destroyed this country

Heard a woman on Radio yesterday who confessed to sending her late Motherā€™s mobile a text every so often. She thought it a way of keeping in touch.
I thought it was stone fucking lunacy myself, telling Katie Hannon confirmed this. Nuts.

Is it any worse than going up to a gravestone for a chat. People handle loss in their own way I guess.

There is something cathartic in writing something. Even if the person never does get it.

Sure lads on here are often tagging former members who are no longer with us.

I think somebody here posted a tweet from Alison Moyet about this. The replies to her tweet were so, so sad.

Ah, thatā€™s not too bad. Now if she was charging the mobile and putting credit into it every month, that would be a bit nutty alright.

Shes doing that too sure. How else would the mother get the message?

Aye Iā€™d occasionally tag @Joe_Player on here, who of course is no longer here. I was tidying up my contacts on the phone lately and hummed and hawed about deleting his number too.

I know a family in limk that buried their da with his phone fully charged in his suit jacket. That night they were all langers and ringing him from the house phone! Helped them handle the day/night a bit, bring a bit of humour to a dark situation.

Imagine he answered !

Phone companies re-assign inactive numbers after a certain period of time. So that poor lady might get an awful shock some day when she gets a response telling her to fuck off
