I was surprised when I was in Munich few years ago to see that culturally in terms of Johnny Cash type bidniz they were closer to the Italian way of life as in many restaurants were cash only which I assume was for fiscal efficiency reasons

Informative rating. I was buying a bit a while back, and transferred money to my sister and asked her to get it out in cash. The bank teller cheerfully asked what was she doing. She had her story straight.
“I’m buying a car” she said (my sister is a very straight person at all times, so she said she could feel herself going red)
“Oh lovely. What car are you getting”
After a pause, a stammer and a deeper flush
“I can’t remember”

Reminds me of the time my now wife excitedly rang me to tell me she was after buying a new(ish) car. I congratulated her and asked what kind of car she she had gotten. She proudly informed me that it was a green one. I told her you can’t go wrong with those green ones.
I often remind her of that story.
