Iād be reassured if @artfoley posted something legalistic in Latin here to assuage any concerns.
Yes mate
Would it surprise younto know violently ill people sometimes avail of an ambulance or that not everyone that goes to hospital is violently ill
Thereās definitely a lot of truth in that but a big issue on a lot of these large scale projects is the lack of a detailed design, and widespread contradictions between engineer and architect drawings.
Drawings will generally show the concept of whatās required, but a lot of the onus is put onto subbies to come up with workable proposals for the finer details.
This opens the door for variations to arise and no better shower than BAM to bulldoze through that door.
Sisk are running a design build for 7 nursing homes which will then lease back on a 25 year deal to the state.
They are running it very well compared to the hospital shitshow. Deadlines. Design. Docs. Etc
That decision alone probably doubled the price of the job
And thatās for a bodied bodied person. I remember walking it myself when I was 18. I was bollixed after it.
Youāre walking to Jamesās there, not the Mater. At least Jamesās has the Luas going through it
Thereās a lovely bit of irony in their public transport directions describing the hospital as being a 10 minute drive from a train station
Ah sorry, I thought we were talking about the childrenās hospital here.
Thatās how a lot of the new schools have been built in the last 20 years isnāt it? BAM build them and then manage them once open while leasing back to the department who eventually take control at some point in the future
Mostly flat anyway
What kind of slow cunt takes 53 minutes to walk 3.8km?
Any construction contract for a significant infra project should have clearly defined processes for changes?
Itās called the Public Works Contract mate.
I havenāt looked massively into the NCH but I would imagine alot of the variations have been vastly inflated by delay (contractor has a fixed daily delay rate which would be thousands per day on a project that size).
unless the contract on the government side has been negotiated by a complete & utter simpleton.
There is a very experienced contract lawyer on the board
What kind of slow cunt takes 53 minutes to walk 3.8km?
Old people. Disabled people. Pregnant people. People with young children.
Slow cunts
Fair point on them all
Disability and or street confrontation
as @Mullach_Ide said, its likely a public works contract, which if manipulated in the right way, can be hugely beneficial to the contractor. And none better than the shower of cunts that are BAM. Iāve not heard massive amounts about the project, but what I have heard is that the design and input has been farcical, particularly on the mechanical and electrical side of things. Stories of things being installed, and then when the end user specialist turns up, tells them that there are new systems in place and it all has to be replaced. Or that what they are requesting is way above the standards or requirements.
the other issue is that it was started before it was ready to go, therefore causing delays and changes, which BAM will manipulate to extort a shitload out of it. Probably politically motivated to get it moving quickly. IMO, the location was all wrong anyway. A clusterfuck of a project from start to not yet finished.
