I’d love to know the truth behind all these delays on the hospital itself.

BAM are generally well regarded when it comes to building these social infrastructure projects. There can always be exceptions though (a Google search would probably reveal them having a mare on another project or two in the past) so I don’t know if they’re misbehaving, as alleged by the government, or if the project design/scope/management was all over the shop & BAM are a convenient scapegoat.

BAM seem to be saying the entire construction period has been characterised by the end user making regular change requests which mean different areas need to redesigned, recosted etc etc.

My sauces are telling me this is all down to poor scoping and design … Apparently there are 5000 individual rooms in the hospital between offices bedrooms etc… stuff like plugs and lights being in wrong places have needed to be moved so it’s 5000 rooms by half a day labour etc etc with BAM contractors who are due on another job

Sounds like a shit show. I didn’t realise but apparently a lot of the consultants have moved into the hospital already and they are feeding back stuff that’s wrong and driving lot of the changes needed
