Not sure he is, don’t think we’ve had a match with both starting yet this year. If both start we may see one taking frees off the left wing and one off the right which would probably ruin the chances of either winning top scorer. Hannon is a very good free taker but I think dowling is better and more consistent, and his blasts to the net off 21s are phenomenal.
That’s what i thought…
Waterford +14 v Kerry, 10/11. Strikes me as a decent bet. Waterford are a better outfit than Tipp.
The six day turn around could well effect Kerry but no way would I be steaming into that bet. Best of luck, pal.
Wouldn’t steam in but it’s a fair bet.
i´d fancy dublin at evens to beat westmeath by more than 7 points…
Thoughts on the handicap betting for the Football this wknd lads?
Kerry naming the same 15 makes their -14 price @ Evens tempting.

I would have thought that Dublin should obliterate Westmeath so 7 may be generous. Don’t think there’s much value in any of them unless you’ve a strong fancy for Derry or Down.
2 flaky enough teams. Derry scored 5-112 in the league. That’s only bettered by Dublin across the 4 leagues.
That’s 18 points per game which is good going.
Derry promoted from Division 2 to 1
Down relegated from Division 1 to 2
You’d expect the intangibles are with Derry. (Morale, momentum etc…)
It’s an interesting example of whether losing to quality opposition is more valuable than beating inferior ones…
I’m leaning to Derry
Derry.
As for Dublin and Westmeath, I oddly rate this Westmeath side. After running Kerry close in Mullingar last year they vowed to give it one major year and see what they could achieve, fine all they’ve done so far is lose to Derry in a League final but I still think they could surprise a lot of people. OK, they’re a long way off where Dublin are, but if Westmeath can hang on in there for the first half, and keep it tight, something they appear built to do, they could surprise a lot of people. If they’re within touching distance with 15 minutes to go, we’ll see what Dublin’s wunderkids have up top. It could be a very good test for Dublin.
Of course, after saying all that Heslin will probably get sent off, Westmeath will most likely shit the pot, be 10 points down by half time and one their way home 10 minutes into the second half. And I realise this goes against what I said about the gap between Division 1 and 2, but deep inside there’s a small bit of a dreamer inside of me. I’m sure Down and Dublin will crush that before the weekend is out.
I think Westmeath will get within 5 or 6 of Dublin. won’t be betting on it but reckon they will more than make a game of it
Good shout, two debutants in the Dublin full back line as well.
Carlow are 3/1 to beat Laois as well in the hurling. Definitely worth a go.
Got a feeling Westmeath could beat the handicap against the Dubs tonight. Mind you said the same for both Limerick and Tipp last weekend.
Not great value to be had on GAA this weekend I think.
Down -3 versus Meath in the hurling is my main bet of the weekend. 7/5
Bookies understandably struggle to price Christy Ring games and I’ve made a decent return out of it previously. The two drew after extra time last weekend and I think Meath have lost their chance. Down only lost by 2 to Kerry in the early stages who would be warm favourites for the cup.
I’ve also doubled this with Waterford +2. Pays around 4/1
I’ve had a small cut off Waterford to win Munster @ 22/1 with a view to laying it off should they make the final, I’d be of the view that whoever wins this will beat Cork

Down 0-23 Meath 1-10
Is Heslin Westmeaths free taker these days or is it Dessie Dolan? Heslin is 11/8 to score less than 3.5 points which looks a super bet if he’s not on the frees.
Heslin was all during league
Fair enough. Not all that attractive so.
