Not so sure Kerry club football is in a good state.
Standard is decent but dominated by divisional teams who have no support creating zero atmosphere at games. No buzz around senior championship games.
They’d all be class skill wise but there’s no cut to it.
You’d see it in County League games down there, it might finish 3-15 to 2-18 and you’d have wing backs coming up the field kicking 3 points but shur their marker might kick 1-05.
They’d all be wearing white socks over their GAA socks and would go home happy.
The Kerry County Hurling final often leaves the football final in the shadow in terms of atmosphere , occasion and passion. Divisional team bring little in terms of making an occasion

Within Kerry, the kerry county hurling final is probably the best sporting occasion of the year. Weeshie Fogarty, former footballer , broadcaster used make no bones about it, admitted hurling final surpasses football final in kerry as an occasion. he played and refereed in a few football finals too

Donoghue has been widely linked with a return to the post since Shane O’Neill’s recent resignation. However it has emerged this evening that he does not wish to go forward in the current process.

Imagine the combination of the generally seething Galway fans, Davy’s all round insecurity and an unbelievably rubbish County Board.

What are the issues in Listowel that makes a big Kerry town like that such a wasteland for GAA? I only ever knew one fella from there and he was a bit of a space cadet.
