Yes it’s a bit of a bizarre point that is being made trying to downplay Corofin just because their players didn’t have much intercounty success
Some lads think intercounty is the be all and end all, they’ve no interest or knowledge in the club game.
If Corofin weren’t a great team we’ll have to fold up the association and start again.
Witnessing Corofin make history, winning the 3 in a row was one of the best days I’ve ever spent in Croke Park.
I doubt we’ll see another 3 in a row winning side in football again. Much more achievable in hurling.
I agree. But it’s Corofin’s biggest cheerleaders that do that by making utterly ludicrous claims about them.
The Corofin cheerleaders told us Galway were drastically under performing because they weren’t making proper use of Corofin’s players (hello Joe).
But that was bunkum. Galway weren’t underperforming. The truth was Corofin’s players couldn’t cut it at inter-county level.
That may be true and I agree that a lot of the points made such as that Corofin would beat Galway were horseshit but they were still a great team
I don’t disagree but I never found them an interesting or box office team.
Corofin excelled in the club championship in recent times. They would be considered a great team by club championship standards which is the only standard they can aspire to.
. Go back to the covid thread.
Tuam took them to a replay in the 2019 final when Corofin kicked 2 points in injury time to draw it. Tuam were leading at halftime the 2nd day before losing by 3. That was on their way to completing the 3 in a row at All-Ireland level. The idea they would have found it more difficult in other county championships is one of the most idiotic statements made on here.
Of course they would have found it more difficult. Galway isn’t a very good club championship.
The notion they wouldn’t have found it more difficult in a better club championship is one of the most idiotic statements you’ll find anywhere and is a classic case of somebody reactively digging in to hold onto a wrong opinion because for some reason a bit of truth offends them.
When you made a show of yourself on here a few weeks ago and couldn’t defend your pitiful position any more you announced you were putting me on ignore - I suggest you do that again now before we start the dance again with the same cowardly conclusion for you.
They won 3-in-a-row - fairly open and shut case as to their greatness. Not even up for discussion.
They still had to go out in the AI series year after year and beat at least two more decent sides.
Bizarre take from the doxxer. His lack of upbringing in club matters really showing him up here, he doesn’t understand GAA culture.
What next? Cody is shit because he never won 5-in-a-row and had a piss easy run in Leinster every year anyway?
He expected Corkness to win the hurling this year sure
Earning the respect of randomers on TFK is the litmus test for any Club GAA side.
A good GGA club side is the equivalent of a good 5 a side football team
A good GAA club rents facilities to lads to play 5 a side soccer
You’re the lad who ridicules mothers having to bring their children to hospital to get treated for the effects of Covid.
Now I’d call that cowardly.
What would you call it?
Yes. Time to defund the gga
I’d say I follow the club game a lot more closely than you do.
However I certainly find most discussion around the club game to be turgid, self-congratulatory, sickly sweet nonsense. An Irish version of a Little House On The Prairie fan club.
And I’ve sod all time for GAA “culture”, whatever that’s supposed to be in your stunted, clotted little mind.
It really triggers the performative club fetishists when such bullshit is called out.
