What medals would Eamo have of real note?

That dated back to 2017 when Wexford exited tamely enough to Waterford in a quarter final at the end of Davy’s first season. Duignan in co-commentary was mystified that we were still playing a sweeper even though we were 6/7 points down late on. I don’t think Davy explicitly named him post match but he had a go at misinformed pundits who don’t understand the game and how he uses 39 different tactics and plays the long ball, the short ball and every ball. Duignan took offence to that and was a bit pissy about it in fairness. Took it as an attempt by Davy to get him off the airwaves and tweeted about trying to fund his kids through college and how he relies on the punditry/co commentary gig.

Davy destroyed him

Was that the time that Duignan tried to end the online discussion by tweeting that he had to go to a BBQ?

I see from the article linked above that Davy did call Duignan out specifically. I don’t think either of them came out of it very well.

Davy is using Offaly here. He’ll be in the Dublin job before we know it.

Fair to say there’s more upside. The new Dermot Healy.

I’d love to see Enda McNulty get a gig as a pundit on The Sunday Game if only to see Joseph Brolly’s head explode into a thousand pieces.

That would be brilliant. Maybe a new segment in a revamped evening show where McNulty takes a deep dive into mindset, mental strength, overcoming adversity and the general psychological aspect of high level sport. He could pick out examples from the weekend games, highlight areas for improvement and show instances where players/excelled in that broad spectrum. Ursula Jacob would be a good foil for him, if they want to make it a duo.

Was McNulty involved in some capacity with Mayo in 2017? Possibly their version of Caroline Currid before it became mainstream. I remember an auld lad from Roscommon continuously roaring to “Get that fucker McNulty off the pitch” at the 2017 drawn quarter-final. There was booing of Andy Moran the same day who was viewed as being a Roscommon man and had turned his back on them.

Could be getting him mixed up with Tony McEntee

Spot on. Had a feeling it might have been another member of the 2002 Armagh winning team. He was encroaching on the pitch and driving the Rossies demented.

And advised Leeroy to show Dean Rock where to kick the free in the last minute

A splendid fellow

“Driving them demented” - as if they weren’t totally demented to start with.
You can never torment them enough.

This is outstanding stuff from the Armagh All-Ireland winner. This is the sort of stuff we need on TSG.

Any TSG producers or RTE Heads of Sport looking in here please also make a note to hire Maire Treasa Ni Dhughbhaill.

On that basis I’d like to see Jim Corr doing news opinion pieces on The Irish Independent

I’m not aware of Maire Treasa’s work at all. She seems like a very personable and polished operator.
