Martin Fogarty the front runner for the KK job now. Lyng turned it down due to work commitments. Although a few KK shrewdies alluded to that here last week.
Fogarty strikes me as a Bonnar type appt. A good coach/selector but not the main man. Would’ve been the man for the job 10/15 years back.

It’s the biggest job in hurling in fairness.
Cody should have left in my opinion in 2015 or latest 2016, to protect his legacy. In fairness, even though we have lost a further two AI’s, his legacy is pretty much intact. But I have always thought he had enough done around the 15/16 time frame. But sure look it, it has happened now, Cody has stepped down, we move forward, a new coach comes in and we’ll do our best to be competitive in the minefield that is the Leinster championship.

You’re exaggerating how good a position Kilkenny are seemingly in. The Kilkenny hurling public demands an All Ireland every year. They’re closing in on record breaking territory without winning one. The wait is out to 8 years now and they don’t look like they have a pool of players there to win it anytime soon.
