Great appointment

Not an ideal situation. Dont think Don is interested. Latest name is Tom Cribbon but word of that hasnt been welcomed locally. Flanagan in the running but wouldnt be highly taught off. Played a style worse than Jim McGuiness with Pearses. Look maybe expectations are too high in the county thinking we can attract a big name but obviously we can’t.

Tom Cribben is a good sort

Dont know much about him, but his previous County Jobs wouldn’t overly excite me. Latest is he is having serious trouble assembling a backroom team anyway so its anyones guess at this stage.

Did he not get Westmeath to a Leinster Final? Got a raw deal with Laois in the late 90s as a young manager when Ian Robertson got away with picking ball clean off the ground and Dublin won the replay then. No back door, he was gone from Laois a year later. I always felt he could have been onto something had he got the boost of that win and blooding the Minors from 95-98. Anyway, we’d no doubt have fucked it up somehow.

Cribben is an impressive man, self made.

Two Leinster finals in a row I think in 2015 and 2016. Relegated from division 2 to division 4 during the same period if I remember correctly though so it was a bit of a hit and miss tenure. Good Leinster semi-finals wins against Meath and Kildare though. Finally broke the winless run against the Royals.

Roscommon should go after Brendan Hackett now that he appears to be at a loose end.

The incorrigible Rossies would prefer a Fr.Jack Hackett type at the helm.

Cant see anything online back it up but i think he was over st brigids in Roscommon few years ago and had a nightmare

He had 5 years with Ballymun and although they won the Covid Championship and an AFL 1 Title, it has to go down as failed tenure.

Better cv than a lot than linked with us to be honest. Hearing Davy Burke is most possible who i wouldnt be against tbh given some the other names mentioned

Benny Guckian (the Cap) would jump at it I’d imagine. Previous inter county experience, understands Connacht football,* possibly available as the Donegal job isn’t finalised yet, young and eager - be a great fit for your warriors.
@Massey will confirm my vote of confidence - be a great appointment :+1:

  • Knows what teams are in it.

Head Coach Guicken has his eyes on bigger jobs i hear

Give it to Cake. He could bring in that wierdo barber with him. Two birds, one stone.

He would be a fantastic appointment. You couldn’t go wrong with the “cap”

Jim back to Donegal at this stage surely

He said no already but he was trauning Glenties for the last six weeks so you never know. O’Rourke from Antrim has been the latest rumour.

Malachy O’Rourke is going to get huge money to take over the Rossies allegedly.

He’s a lad who’d get a tune out of them. Potentially a great appointment for them.
