GAA Managerial Merrygoround Thread

Havent heard his name mentioned locally here for Ros job.
Bernard Flynn was favourite during the week with a seemingly decent name wise backroom team. Stephen O neill tyrone one of them. Rumoured to have pulled put overnight though because one member of committee was against him. Davy Burke stongly linked but has no backroom team only two locals. One no experiance the other was with cunningham bar last year when he changed backroom team.
Brendan Hackett new favourite meant to have colm nally who was with Meath and an unnamed ex duba player from Ballymun if rumours are to be believed. Shit show really

Would be gobsmacked if true but would be very happy if it was
And although we have had a very generous finance backer over the years surely the Donegal job would be more appealing and closer to home for him. We couldnt surely offer ao much he would take us

@RedHandHuns

If Glen lose on Sunday, Malachy O’Rourke surely becomes available.

Mickey Moran will be brought out of retirement to bring Andy Merrigan to Maghera.

Talk all week had been was to be tomorrow so flynn pulling out obviously true. 2 or 3 of committee wanted him but one was dead against which led to him pulling out is the talk. Makes sense if its kicked back to next wednesday now. Anyone but Flanagan for me. Plays dog shite football. Like terrible

Would Kevin O’Brien from Corofin have any interest?

Crazy that the club championship will be over before a bainisteoir has been appointed.

Mind you, you’d imagine the proposed candidate will be in the Hyde on Sunday.

I would say he was approached so must not. Don Connellan has done well with moycullen manager has won Galway championship amd doing good work and he turned it down. Hes an ex Ros player from same club as chairman so if hes not interested shows little that are.

True but doesnt make different to me. Not as if we have any hidden gems that club championship throws up. Everyone in county knows whos good enough and iv no doubt new manager give all a shot.
Few lads going travelling including the brother so we are weakened enough next year regardless

The chairman tweets alot of Leeds United content.

It will hardly be Bielsa, will it ??

Nightmare draw in Connacht made up a few minds id say

In advance of the coming season it appears that @thedancingbaby has thrown his weight behind the emerging Rossies……

Om the chairman tweets lots on Leeds alright. Nice fella heart in right place but timid enough say he struggles make decisions.

what is going on with the Rossies? I thought it would have been a job that would appeal to a few good candidates?

Dont really disagree was more his backroom team was poss the best. Game now more about few crew more than manager imo
Like McStay our lads would tell you havnt a breeze but has good team under him with Mayo

If he ever gets a job, let’s see if his mooted management team shows up

Hoped it would but when think about it. As good as relagated in league. Previous years stole a provincial when Mayo had eyes on bigger things. Under McStay year one and Galway last year they will be all out for it and Galway the same so very little chance.
If we were still in D2 would be more appealing could be chance at that in most years. Not next year with the dubs though. Your in lose lose situation. Very little chance silverware while half rated enough to get some. More than likely finish management career at top level

Had Stephen O Neill ex Tyrone and ex Dublin Player if thats to be believed. Not saying they top drawer but name like O Neill was welcomed around here. The hope more than what he has done
