Thatās it.
And luck. Chance.
We happened on a bit of good fortune a couple of decades ago and it literally set the club up.
We havenāt been getting much luck lately tbf. But the club is bopping.

Gaultier is the Gaelic football club in Dunmore East. Itās about the only Gaelic football club in East Waterford. Both Ballygunner and Passage hurlers play football for Gaultier. Theyād do well at underage level and then most of their best footballers are told to give it up and concentrate on hurling in their mid teens.
The Inter County is a total dead duck. Renting crowds off Ticketmaster for the finals tells you all you need to know. Dublin v Kerry not breaking 75k.
But but but there were some great round robin games played on cold, damp Saturdays in April at Wexford Park
The Club game is very salvageable with it being put back by 4-6 weeks. That double header today would have been so much better in a months time.
Winds rise and fall. The key is to capitalise when the sail is full. Kudos, you obviously had good men at the tiller when it mattered.
Something like 20 out of the 27 BG players who togged out for the AI Club Final went to UCC for their third level education.
Dunmore East is Passage hurling country then is it?
There needs to be a falling out in Ballygunnar for another club so, presume land is dear out that way too.
Would it though? Breaking your hole to get to training for 6pm.
Conor McKenna who is the most BOX OFFICE player in Gaelic football is away to Australia again.
Not even the Box Office Industries Tyrone IFC, the countryās premier IFC, can keep him around.
The split season strikes again.
Not really, if you are good enough youāll beat the best teams and win the county title.
There isnāt a conspiracy to protect the strongest 4 teams - it just so happens they are consistently the best teams in it. Nothing whatsoever to stop any team breaking through and interrupting their dominance.
It should be but Ballygunner over the last decade and a half or so would have more drifting into them than to Passage.
Gaultier I believe would be the home club of the Hutchinsons. Think the home place is far side of Woodstown, heading towards Dunmore. They all ended up hurling with Ballygunner when maybe historically fellows out that way would have hurled with Passage. JJ and Wayne Hutchinson would have been good club hurlers with Ballygunner and won plenty of Senior medals but would have been viewed firstly as footballers.
Ah come here, that double header could be played on October bank holiday and would still be rubbish. Huge gap in standards.
From a local scribe in the paper of merit in Wexford
And with that, the stark reality hit home ā on August 20 ā that there will be no more adult club hurling to enjoy until the weekend of November 12-13, when Ferns St. Aidanās, Oulart-The Ballagh and Horeswood will be in action in Leinster.
The real die-hards will get their fix in the meantime from Coiste na nĆg games and the schools scene when it returns, while others will venture beyond the county borders to the likes of Kilkenny and Waterford to take in the concluding stages of their championships.
For some, it will be an even longer wait until the 2023 Walsh Cup comes around in early January.
Iām not in any of the above categories because, as a member of a football club, the eight-week block of action about to commence in that code will sustain me for the foreseeable future.
However, it is a case of welcome to the new reality, and the complete absence of club hurling in the traditionally busiest months of September and October still requires plenty of adjustment.
Fixtures will always be the hottest of topics, and I believe that itās impossible to come up with the perfect package. I speak from experience, having been involved in that capacity with various bodies in the past.
Essentially, we have the same set of players competing in two different sports locally, and thatās before you factor in the added involvement of the small minority on the inter-county front.
From my observations, the person who says they have the ideal formula to combat all fixtures problems has never been involved at a practical level in trying to implement a games programme.
As for the current system in Wexford, the broad feedback Iām receiving is that itās largely welcomed by the players and, frankly, if itās good enough for them, then that will do for me.
It allows them to focus fully on one sport, and it also facilitates holidays in the early summer without fear of missing out on any major fixtures.
Given that theyāre the ones putting in the serious effort and providing all the entertainment, we should take their views on board rather than paying lip service.
This is exactly the issue. It suits those it suits, those left behind not even given a moments consideration. Should it continue expect a lot more big inter club tranfers. The shortsightedness of it all is concerning, fellas need to turn the headlights on here
Another fantastic round of the Limerick football championship concludes with a myriad of permutations heading into the final round.
With the benefit of allowing the EPL fans to watch their matches in the pub in peace.
No offense but Iād wager thereāll be more young lads practising the skills they saw on MOTD tomorrow than the, ahem, skills they saw in the Limerick football club championship.
Doubtful, given they are back to school in the morning and we have football training at 6:30 in the evening.
Just keep them young lads away from the annual Ballysteen GAA Cheltenham Tipping Competition and no more about it
Would ye not try for a a session at 7:30am?
Youād have to wonder are they taking the thing seriously at all
Spidey and the lads are already injecting PEDs
