Gaa split season, killing Meath football since 2011

The outrage in the comments is telling.

The one eyed man is king in the land of the blind.

The old way was an unmitigated disaster.

An appalling way to run competitions.

Agreed.

The great Anthony Daly whoā€™s over a club in Clare is against the split season.

Seems to be a lot of lads who make a living talking about intercounty GAA against the split season alright

The great tj Ryan has canvassed all sorts of players and fans and heā€™s gotten a very mixed response.

Heā€™s not. Heā€™s like myself and most reasonable contributors who think the all Ireland should be 3 weeks later.

Iā€™m amazed at the shit show below in Wexford is actually happening. Hurling first and then football. So lads wonā€™t be playing any hurling for six months of the year.

Thatā€™ll finish hurling for Wexford forever if itā€™s allowed continued. Imagine telling a jump jockey he couldnā€™t jump fences for six months of the year or a guitarist to take six months off.

They simply wonā€™t compete.

@BruidheanChaorthainn is winning this hands downā€¦ Many pundits and reporters are beginning to voice the same opinion as him.

Many players too.

Shane McGrath is all for it.

Iā€™d love to know what county players TJ was talking to as all Limerick players are for split season.

Dalyā€™s club are shite and facing relegation which would cloud his view.

Your mate mark landers reckons less lads will go to America over the split season :sweat_smile::joy:

Well its only students who can go isnt it?

We have been over this, the same amount of lads go to America every year. There is only so many sanctions to be given out and only a few clubs who pay big bucks. Split season has no effect.

Not everybody goes to America has to hurl. The vast majority donā€™t.

Would hurling deter lads from doing a year or two out foreign at club level?

Agreed but the amount of lads going hasnā€™t changed either.

Most lads in university go for a year, split season wonā€™t change that either way.

Weā€™ll thanks to the split season thereā€™s no real reason to stick around for the summer.
