Gaa split season, killing Meath football since 2011

Clubs are being hurt more by lads going for a year or two or 5 in Australia.

Of course, the split season is to blame.

Of course. Championship is a blitz. Who’s going to stick around? You could sprain ankle and miss the whole lot of it ffs.

It’s the same club championship as before except we don’t have to play 2 rounds in April and go back running in muck in January.

No it’s not it’s a gloried blitz run off after the inter county players are flogged to death playing out the most awful championships for eight months.

This is going round in circles

No it’s not. The split season is destroying the gaa. It’s as simple as that.

100% where players had to go back in early January to train for championship in April. At least that is gone.

Don’t recall too many players of the calibre of Brian Fenton skipping off for the summer and missing the club season before this split season nonsense came in.

Fenton’s club Raheny are crap, no realistic chance of winning a county.

That’s not a very split season/it’s all about the club soundbite.

They are far from crap with a full team.

Fenton’s crew won all round them growing up and Brian Howard and Sean McMahon are decent too at a younger age.

They should be making Quarter Finals every year at minimum cc @Bandage

Saw them last year a few times with Fenton playing. Not realistic contenders even with Fenton in my opinion.

At least you’ll get an extra week of Carlow club hurling next year.

@Perez2017 really let the mask slip there for the split season zealots. Split season has ensured that most inter-county players are done by mid to late June. If you’re playing with a ‘crap club’ that don’t have a chance of winning it’s seemingly grand to skip off for the summer.

It’s an extremely anti-club soundbite. It’s like something that somebody who wanted to kill off the club game would say.

Fenton was done by mid July. If he doesn’t feel any loyalty towards his club that is his look out. Free country. Didn’t see any of the Cork hurlers doing it mind you and they were finished on June 18th if i am correct.

Yes, we’ve got the message loud and clear at this stage that the Cork Hurling Championship is the nirvana that everyone should aspire to.

God save the King.

When did the Tyrone Senior Football Championship start?

Well you are stating constantly incorrectly I may add that county players are leaving in their droves after their county exit. Cork hurlers were all given a few weeks off by their clubs to rightly take a break and all lined out for their clubs in championship.
