Could they give away a free CD of the latest episode of the podcast with each paper copy of the Examiner?
Would someone post up the results of the day.
Sure thereâs way too many games now, Galway will have at least 4/5 more games. Not everyone has an unlimited budget to go to matches.Do you know how much a day out for a family of 2 parents and 2 kids cost?My in-laws are staunch Limerick supporters and have always been even in the bad timeâs,I asked the father in law was he going Sunday and he said sure whatâs the point Iâll watch it at home Sunday theyâve loads more games.
The most perverse thing about the new GGA media rights deal is there was a media blackout for Antrim-Dublin today, as it wasnât on telly or MULDOONGO. But you can watch a Dublin U17 football game against Louth or someone on clubber.ie. Make it make sense, you fucking cunts. Could they not have had a separate county online season ticket & let counties stream their own games too? Theyâre literally killing their prized product to prioritise Seamus the junior B hurler. They want to give Seamus games in the middle of summer but Seamus will miss these games anyway as heâll be on holidays. Itâd be like the IRFU ring fencing 6 months of the year & stipulating that only tag rubby can be played during this time. No wonder the likes of Roy Curtis & @peddlerscross are fuming at this absolute farce.
Every match that thereâs cameras at should be available on GaaGo.
Was there matches on?
Still, it was only 15 quid in today. And it was Galwayâs âplumâ home fixture given theyâre away to Kilkenny and Dublin. Which makes the paltry crowd even worse.
The next time Galway supporters will get the chance to see their hurling team in a meaningful fixture mightnât be until the annual Leinster final dirge against Kilkenny, and thatâs unlikely to be attractive enough to bring them out in large numbers. So maybe an All-Ireland quarter-final at 1:15pm on a Saturday in late June in Thurles. Maybe an All-Ireland semi-final, if theyâre lucky.
Could the GAA give county teams Super 14 style nicknames to attract the young people?
Iâm sure this idea has come up before but in the spirit of the repetitive nature of the current championship format Iâm sure we can go through it again.
Tickets Diesel Supermacs maybe a day off work for Dad,it all adds up.If it was KO the place would have been rammed. But theyâve loads of games left to go to yet.
Ah it wouldnât have been now.
Galway might be as well off playing their non-Kilkenny home games in this format in Athenry, or Ballinasloe, or maybe Loughrea.
We have a camera filming all our club matches. Even league and practice matches. Surely itâs not too much to expect the powers that be to produce live coverage of any game at inter-county level for a nominal fee. Antrim v Dublin was one of the more enticing games of the weekend.
Iâm giddy lads, what an explosive weekend. Have we ever had it this good??
Never
Agreed.
Sat down yesterday to buy a season ticket for GAAGO and maybe one for the folks at home. Naively, I thought Iâd be able to watch the Kilkenny match today and maybe the Offaly football tomorrow. Thereâs no value in it. Thereâs only about 5 hurling matches being shown all season. Surely it wouldnât be rocket science to allow all games to be streamed.
Thatâs the thing, thereâll be cameras at them so why arenât they streamed, even without sound sure you could listen to the local radio.Makes no sense.
Thatâs a non-gaa problem.
Yeah itâs dreadfully poor but itâll take years for them to acknowledge the worldâs changed & that all these games should be available now in THE AGE OF TECHNOLOGY. I complained for over 10 years that TG4 should be showing more than 1 live league game on a Sunday, instead of 1 live & 2 deferred. Even though I had no intention of watching any of these games, I was glad when they finally came around to my way of thinking. Iâm digging trenches here for a similarly long drawn out battle.
Cant wait for the Euros in the middle of the championship next year. It will drive the inter county zealots crazy.
That was as good a championship Sunday as there will be this year.
The best game stuck behind a paywall. The second best game stuck on BBCNI which my television provider wonât carry.
I look forward to four minutesâ highlights worth of Clare v Tipp tonight followed by three minutes of Down v Donegal, 90 seconds of Offaly v Meath and eight minutes of Laois v Dublin.
Cork beat Waterford next Saturday, you might as well stick a fork in the Munster Round robin after 2 rounds.
