Gaa split season, killing Meath football since 2011

Getting some good coverage at the Eurovision at least.

Was there any specific reason the gaa didn’t get introduce senior, intermediate and junior at inter county level?

I know there has been junior and intermediate championships but not with countries first teams.

There is no turning your nose at it like you see with 2b and 3b etc etc.

THEY DID IN THEIR FUCK!!!

In fairness the final against Offaly was on RTE. That’s one more live free to air game than they’ll be afforded this year.

There were Junior, Intermediate and even Senior B All Ireland Championships but the playing of them was sporadic. I guess because of the old provincial knockout system you would have a lot of first teams even from weaker counties playing in the Senior championship proper, so for instance a Limerick B team would be playing Intermediate Championship against a Kerry B team.

That was the only bit of coverage given all year. NOTHING prior to that. Don’t be talking shite.

So 70 minutes of live action as a Joe McDonagh county compared to 15 minutes combined highlights as a Liam McCarthy team. Same for Laois 2024 v Laois 2022.

The only bit of the Leinster hurling championship I’ve seen this year was queuing for a few pint bottles of cider in Murphy’s in Brandon on Saturday evening.

Seems like it’s fairly open and anybody can beat anybody.

You’re so wrong it’s embarrassing. They were both ignored for the entirety of the competition until the final, they didn’t even give the fucking results.

They are getting some service this year at least.

The Joe McD should be let off to TG4. They should also be given the Tailteann cup.

Why not Virgin Media? They’d do a right job on it you’d feel.

TV3 is just not a GAA channel.

And Paul Flynn and Ursula are?

Flynner and Ursula are class.

Flynner’s state of flow is glorious.

It really raises the tone of telly GAA analysis to have somebody who can speak fluently.

Neither are channels, although Ursula does channel something.

I think you’re suffering Stockholm syndrome from Flynn and Ursulas drone

Carlow actually got 90 minutes of live coverage last year as the Joe McDonagh Cup Final against Offaly went to extra time. Correct in your observations that is multiples, actually 30 times as much coverage (and live coverage too) than the 3 minutes of coverage that Carlow have got in the microwave split season Liam McCarthy Cup, 2024.

Carlow also got plenty of air time last year as a consequence of the usual moaning and bleating you invaraibly always get from Laois. Laois, bless them, were complaining about the Offaly team selection in the last round of the Joe McDonagh round robin phase after Carlow had the temerity to go out and beat Offaly to clinch their final place and in the process eliminate Laois. Carlow then for good measure a few weeks later went and beat the Offaly team that was selected for the Joe McDonagh Cup Final.

Offaly got mugged rightly off last year. Put out a weakened team against the rasta boys because they were afraid of meeting Laois, and then lost a McDonagh final to fucking Carlow

Anyway, we’ll see Carlow on Sunday, they’ll have to bate us some day. Maybe it’ll be Sunday.

Probably get more coverage when they beat Wexford by a point a week of Sunday in Dr. Cullen…

Laois will bate Carlow by a point a man in the football.
