Gaa split season, killing Meath football since 2011

Mayo and Dublin are actually playing right now.

Are they not a shower of cunts?

A slippery slop sounds disgusting

The country used to come to a standstill when these two meet.

Almost no buzz at all regarding this weekend’s fixtures in either the hurling or football championships.

No football being broadcast live on free to air this weekend. Last year on the corresponding weekend there was one football game broadcast free to air which was Galway v Mayo.

Why the change this year?

GoGo TV should be renamed Buffer’s Alley.

I’d say this is the worst summer of inter county championships ever closely followed by 23 and then 22.

2020 wasn’t great.

2021 was actually relatively good.

Having no championships is better than this current format

Congratulations to the GAA on putting the Mayo v Derry thriller behind a paywall. You couldn’t be having Saturday night fare like this on free to air television because people might actually watch it.

It’s not the GAA’s job to broadcast free content

That’s grand so, stick the lot behind a paywall. All-Ireland finals and all.

Some evisceration of the split season zealots by Sweeney in todays Sindo.

Its it job to maximise the promotion of its games which its making a complete balls of.

Driving back from Thurles yesterday and RTE had Adrian Eames and Sean Cavanagh doing a live commentary from the Tyrone and Roscommon match - but whatever way they were set up you could not hear any crowd noise whatsoever so there was no backdrop to paint a picture whatsoever.

It was akin to listening to paint dry

Eamonn clearly looks in here. His point about GAA presidents’ obsession with legacy is well made. Individual egos have been rampant in all this. Dullards with no worthwhile ideas looking to leave a “legacy”. I’ve made this point continually over the years. Is there anything more dangerous than the simpleton who wants to leave a “legacy”?

The steady hand of Liam Mulvihill has been so badly missed.

Don’t be so negative. We have an exceedingly attractive Tallaght Hospital Sweepstakes Cup double header live on FREE TO AIR television today.

One of the great, great days in Irish sport, always.

A nation holds its breath.
