Gaa split season, killing Meath football since 2011

Which makes it even stranger you support the round robin / super eights.

Always good crowds at Tipp Club Hurling games.

I remember in June 2017 in the middle of the Inter County Championship, about 2 or 3k packing into Dolla to see Kiladangan v Kilruane in a Knockout North Semi Final on a Sunday night.

Nice bit of needle there too.

Didn’t see it but Tipp Hurling is very much on the bounce back.

A tsunami of hurlers on the brink of breaking through.

The gaa getting back page cover along with rugby. Soccer the front page.

One of them was a final.

The Euro final getting the front page is the fault of the split season. What a headbanger.

Before we didn’t clash with a euro finals. From August to October there isn’t much sport on. Which is when you had the biggest gaa games on.

The split season and the split coverage.

Under the current schedule the All-Ireland hurling final of 2026 will be an afterthought in the sports coverage because it would be on the same day as the World Cup final.

If you think the All-Ireland hurling final being an afterthought is a good idea, that makes you a headbanger.

What happens if Lowry or McIlroy are in contention at Royal Troon on Sunday afternoon?

The 2014 Munster final was the same day as the World Cup final. How did lads cope with the two being on the same day?

My recollection of 2022 is that the media paid more attention to another disappointment for Rory McIlroy at St. Andrew’s than they did to Limerick winning three in a row.

The mental gymnastics in posts like this is fascinating. Lads contorting themselves into Olga Korbut-like shapes.

The Munster final was only one of ten big weekends back then so while it wasn’t ideal it wasn’t too bad.

Now thanks to the new format you only have five at a push. Three of which will always be overshadowed by soccer going forward.

You’d know we’re getting near the business end of the championship if the Times are sending fellas to cover it.

Your grasping at straws now lad.FFS.

Sure McIlroy was leading down the stretch the day of the AI final 2 years ago, no one at the match cared less.
