Somehow Antrim managed to make a final against all the odds, they knew dam well that they hadnât a hope of beating Tipperary that day, or any other day for that matter but by god they enjoyed the atmosphere regardless.
This current Galway seem very like that Antrim team of 89. Great bunch of lads that got a lucky break and are intent on lapping up the fun and build up.

With this prick of a ref im far less confident. If we had a ref whod let everything go and we could win a battle. Owens always struck me as the excitable type, what club is he in wexford out of interest? Why wasnt johnny ryan given this?
His club is Askamore. I recall his style being to let pretty much everything go until he was in charge of a Galway-Cork league final in Thurles about 5 years ago. The game raged from end to end and was a really good spectacle (for a league final) but I understand he was carpeted by the assessor afterwards. This could all be made up though. You should focus on the time he blew up for full time in Kilkenny-Waterford in 2013 as what would have been the winning Kilkenny point was sailing over the bar.
I recall it pal, i was there, ye beat the roasters in quite a poor game. Canning made a lot of hay that day despite being held a bit maybe thats what caught the assessors eye and turned owens whistle happy. Wheres his home place in relation to Kilkenny? Is it a hovel full of thick rednecks who hate everyone (hopefully) or one of these places where everyone goes to school and drinks in a nearby town, that town being thomastown or something
