Galway v Tipp

That cunt Sheedy. He got fairly pissed up in Ballybrit later that week.

Any word yet on who the man in the middle will be on August 16?

Barry Kelly isn’t it?

Really hoping this game saves the season. Its been a shite year so far for hurling.

Galway by 8.

Something to really whet the appetite for Sunday.

The Tipp team of 1993 were very impressive in Munster. They won both semi and final by 18 points. You would wonder how they lost the semi to Galway. I’d say they weren’t expecting that.

Ken Hogan letting one hop off his chest and go in was the killer blow if I remember correctly.
Seeing him waddle in after it in a disgusted fashion gave us many a chuckle at the time.

Clare had collapsed fairly epically in the Munster final after beating Limerick and Cork. Despite the level headedness of Babs Tipp probably overlooked some of their flaws facing into the Galway game.

Raymie Ryan and Paul Delaney panning each other out didn’t help either.

Spot on.

Raymie had serious potential but he was never the same after that. Pity.

As regards that team in 1993, the average age must have been very high. They were fading fast bar the likes of Leahy & Raymie age wise.

They played some brilliant hurling that year, Anthony Crosse was a revelation in an extremely brief career. It was champagne hurling in the munster final. Whatever about Nicky laughing, we fucking laughed.

Raymie always looked like he was clearing the ball with one leg up in the air.

Tipperary were outstanding in 1993. Beat Kerry and Clare (when Clare really were the whipping boys) then shit themselves when they faced their first meaningful test in Galway.

  1. Darren Gleeson, 2 Cathal Barrett, 3 James Barry, 4 Conor O’Brien, 5 Ronan Maher, 6 Pádraic Maher, 7 Kieran Bergin, 8 James Woodlock, 9 Shane McGrath, 10 Jason Forde, 11 Brendan Maher, 12 Bonnar Maher, 13 Bubbles O’Dwyer, 14 Seamus Callanan, 15 Niall O’Meara

Just four starters from the 2010 & 2011 All Ireland final starting fifteens. The edge in experience and team development that Tipperary seemingly have and which just about every pundit/expert is commenting on is really over exaggerated.

Bubbles is a big upgrade…If Galway can keep him relatively quiet they will go a long way to winning.

Galway never feared Tipp.

Yes they beat a Kerry team that beat Waterford in Walsh Park and a Clare team that beat Limerick and Cork.
Losing a match doesn’t always necessarily mean a team shits themselves unlike, say, a lad shitting himself before a marathon or something.
