Thatās a really interesting point actually and Iām not sure how it applies to the parties beyond FF and FG. If they claim theyāre increasing spending on public services but itās just paying the existing staff numbers more money then itās hard to see how itāll lead to a meaningful increase in output or standards of public service?

The language of that poster is hilarious. High earners already pay more, significantly more. The notion that the Irish tax system is not already highly progressive is subversive. Itās reasonable that some would like to make it even more progressive but itās misleading to suggest that thereās some kind of flat tax rate currently.
