General Election 2016

In English please, pal.

Neither is Jean McConville.

@Tim_Riggins shouldn’t start talking about things he understands little about.

Feigning dyslexia is a pretty cheap way to get out of that one.

It does when the leader of a Political Party with ambitions to lead our Republic has serious question marks over his actions in the 06.

Below an effective rate of 2% that they actually pay?

What countries mate?

It’s the O6, mate, not the 06.

It’s a bit rich that Adams has questions to answer that DeValera, Collins or Lemass never had to, or areas that are never revisited by mainstream Irish media.

Pal, you do realise people with money to buy companies & businesses for which you & I work pay our wages.

Do you have an issue with a self employed person making a profit from there labour?

Unfortunately those people are dead, pal.

Sinn FĂŠin made a clear and expressed decision to go to the ballot box and more democratic path in the 80s. This is supported by them;

  1. running actual, you know candidates in Westminister elections, something they didn’t do before 1983
  2. the 1986 split in the party
  3. clearly expressed talk from the leadership of the Republic movement that this was their policy. This is easily linked for you if you so wish

Your contention is that SF didn’t try so hard so how could people vote for them. You are claiming that nationalists must not have been aware of them, or told not to bother voting SF, when they could have given a clear and unambiguous signal that they supported the IRA. They did not. They supported the SDLP.

I’m pro peace @Sidney
I’m anti terrorist. Always have been. I was never in favour of this ‘war’ that the terrorists were waging, that was you lot. So why would I be anti peace process? You couldn’t make it up.

You are supporting a party SF/IRA whose leader was a terrorist and whose second in command gave a public eulogy to a Nazi collaborator.
A vote for SF is a vote for people who are the enemy of the anti fascists (your mates from last week ) and a vote for a holocaust denier.

How do SF stop self employed people making a profit from their labour?

How do SF stop companies paying out wages?

If you can actually articulate reasons behind this scaremongering rhetoric then be my guest but I would suspect it will be more empty soundbites from you.

What’s your opinion of Michael Collins and the Ballyseedy war criminals, mate?

Fine Gael fought for Franco in Spain.

There were lots of questions about Dev and FF ahead of them taking power for the first time if I remember the history. Not sure about Lemass. Collins was dead during the civil war - different circumstances really.

I already clamped the shit out of you a couple of weeks back over your up front support for neo-Nazis, pal.

Just accept it and move on. I know how much it must have hurt you to lose an argument on the INTERNET.

Sure didn’t DeValera own the media, literally.

The line that if you oppose SF here because of their past that you are an enemy of peace is tolerated up north as the general population don’t want they to go back murdering them.

They parrot it here but it doesn’t have the same resonance. It doesn’t work in this country. You and I grew up in a decent country where people could get on with their lives without the everyday fear of scum bombing or shooting you. We can objectively look at that and say “no thanks”. The Rastoolers who like to think they’d have all have been in the GPO in 1916 just can’t get their heads around it. They tell us that we should stop saying Gerry Adams is a murderer and Sinn Fein as a whole a murderous organisation as it doesn’t work. I’m sorry but where I come from and amongst the decent people I know that’s a pretty big factor. That they say to shut up about the past whilst talking about Michael Lowry, Ray Burke ect is gas.

Well he owned the Irish Press alright. I don’t have any detail on the level of press queries at the time about FF. I think it’d be interesting to know more what the broad take of the press at the time was.

@Sidney you are dodging the issues iv put in front of you.
You chose to support and passionately debate for the party whose second in comand is a holocaust denier.
The only party in Ireland with rock solid links to a Nazi collaborator.

Congratulations to you on another ‘internet victory’
