Brian Lenihan saved Ireland, what would have the blueshirts have done?
Wexford was always considered a 2 FF, 2 FG and 1 Labour constituency until the last time. Interesting about Wallace commanding loads of votes from north county former FF voters. On the one hand, there’s plenty of store placed on where candidates are from and whether some will suffer for having too much local competition or gain from having an area all to themselves. But then there’s plenty of anecdotal evidence of people from, say New Ross, not voting for the FF person from there and instead voting for the FF candidate elsewhere etc. Why do you give Mythen no chance? Not enough spare left wing votes to go around generally or just that he’s not an impressive enough candidate personally?
He was some disaster as a Minister for Health, in all fairness.

Cavan/Mon has traditionally returned a token Prod. Humphreys inherited that mantle from Crawford.
Jan O’Sullivan is a prod I believe.
Donegal used to have a Prod TD back in the day, think he was IND but associated with FF.
Correct on Jan
Alan Shatter also represents the minorities as did Ben Biscoe back in the day.
This is not good for FG
Baldy spent Christmas in hospital for a few stints
What?
The latter. Even if you were a Ra member in the area you’d probably vote for someone else
And how was this a bad thing?
Because he did it to piss the money away on bank debt. Not for better services, not for infrastructure or education or even brassers and coke. To pay off the debts of a few mates who filled his party coffers.
You know that’s not really the case. Public sector were massively overpaid through benchmarking with no corresponding performance monitoring or efficiencies. The cuts restored parity.
“Kaiser Noonan” supporters gone fierce quiet
The big battle in Limerick city is between Maurice and Jan.
The other 3 seats are a formality pal.

What other three? It’s between O’Donnell and Noonan. Quinlivan will take the third seat.
Sweep sweep.
Noonan, Willie, O’Donnell will take the first 3 seats imo…it’ll be a dog fight between Jan and Maurice for the last seat and Maurice will get it I’d say.
I posted something similar on here last night, a lot of traditional Labour voters are turning to SF, and as the years go by the McCabe incident in Limerick is less likely to be a red line issue.
In fairness as well to Maurice he knocks on doors in the Northside, Jan just throws her leaflet under the front door and runs off. I’ll be amazed if she gets back in, Jim Kemmys good will is forgotten now as well.
Kaiser Noonan has given as detailed account of this.
He acted perfectly correctly.
