We can’t help the wastage in the system with the establishment parties. (Terrible to say)
FG said they would but didn’t. Yes there is wastage. The Senate. Unvouched expenses. Civil servants extravagant allowances. Little or no accountability, That needs to be tackled, it’s not their money. In any private company they 'do be screwed.

Front line services need investment. Hospitals, Gardai, Teachers. I want people cared for, safe and educated.

In respect of tax, I think €100k is fair. There’s the word I repeat fair. Anyone earning more can pay a wee bit more.

€700 in tax for every €10k earned over €100k is fuck all for those earning it.

Equate that to someone earning earning €20k a year. They are on the breadline and need help.

Do we want to live in a society where it’s a race to the bottom. I’m okay and fuck the rest.

Sound lad, put the groceries in a box for my pregnant wife and carried them out. Used to see him having a pint now and again and said hello, didn’t mix with him and live in a bigger house but that’s life.

Fair enough. As I said I guessed.

Thinking about your shop lad example, tax cuts should really only be for people up to about the avg industrial wage. Most of the parties are looking for substantial cuts above that too.

I also think marginal tax rates above 50% significantly disincentivise work and can cause unintended consequences.

I guessed. 5% of the country earn over 100k, about 1 in 20. If we consider that about 40 people post regularly on TFK, that only gives a couple on north of 100k. I guessed that he wasn’t one.

TFK are the country’s intellectual elite and it makes sense that the site would not be representative of averages.

It was a reasonable guess. 5% over 100k. Prob only a fraction of those actively support SF. To be fair, I respect someone who calls for their own taxes to be increased.

People who earn over 100k should not be punished for being successful by being forced to pay additional tax.
