Getting Back in the Game/you'd want your head examined to referee a ladies football match

I’ve seen worse. Regularly.

All year waiting for a game and then run it off in the space of two weeks basically :joy:

I was an hour early for the game as I was coming from somewhere else and the West Board representative was already in his car by the gate waiting to pounce for his €5, for fear anyone would get to see a west junior b football game on a Sunday night in October for free :joy:

I wonder did he collect the full 35 quid and was it enough to offset his expenses

I’d say the West Board ended up down money for having sent him as they do for probably 80% of the matches every year. There’s often two on the gate for junior b games and 10 max in attendance.

I’d imagine they make their money on a handful of the junior A hurling games every year and then from stuff like the West Senior Football Final. The rest of it is just the lads milking it.

But they saved money by not turning on the floodlights until it was pitch dark

That was a joke. The referee said he wasn’t starting the second half til the lights were turned on.

Wouldn’t take my season ticket at the gate. Told him I had no money on me and in fairness he said bate away in. The west board is getting no money off me.

Pretty sure I spotted him

Is Kildare the only county to charge players into games?

What :grinning:

I know.

Warwickshire also mate.

£5 in yesterday for the county final.

No way? That’s mental. I thought the west board were bad :joy:
