They are nothing without Tim Smith.

Plus Smith gave them permission to use his songs as long as he got some compensation. He hasn’t got a bob off them.

After a brief listen to their new album this seems the case, the fella who took over as front man seems like a cunt

Eric Pulido

Even at their gigs when Smith was there, he did all the talking. That could have been because Smith was too shy but he seemed to be revel in the lead role even though Smith wrote all the songs and was the lead singer.

It seemed odd.

I read an interview with Tim recently. Poor fella has just gone through a divorce. He says it may take a while but he will be back. He is calling himself Harp these days. I will be watching developments closely.

Tim Smith

Got an offer of a ticket for Com Truise. Not sure.

Kasabian tonight in the Opera house! Bring it on!!

Great gig. Now I’m off to the drunk at work thread

Great sounds coming from the market as Kasabian tune up for later.

Got tickets today for Tony Bennett and also for the Fred Wesley trio. I hope poor oul Tony is still alive come the gig.

Neutral Milk Hotel playing tonight in Vicar Street.

Overrated in my view.

@chewy louie and @Il Bomber Destro - Was chatting away to Kasabian earlier, nice chaps. Had a bit of banter about Leicester being back in the big time… I was gonna ask about their love of Irish ballads but left it off… They are usuing our Olive shop to enter/exit their show tonight… gave us free tickets but I told them they were shite and I will be staying home.

Chewy can confirm their love of Irish ballads you prick.

Kasabian rocked last night.

Bit of a lull in the middle but the last 40 minutes were class! Very enjoyable.

Any favourites on the night, mate?

What was their setlist?

Club foot as usual sent the place mad.

They finished with a strong encore of switch blade smiles, Vlad the impaler, the roof is on fire, praise you by fat boy slim and LSF

Saw Mersey Beat in the bar in the Haven Hotel in Dunmore East last night. One man band playing all of the Beatles classics with a backing track. Played the second half in a Sergeant Pepper outfit.

New tune from J5 is great fun, playing Vicar St 16/17 June.

The War On Drugs are playing at Vicar Street tonight. Probably my favourite current band. I’d rank their new album “Lost In The Dream” slightly below their previous album “Slave Ambient” but it’s still very good.
