Eh why wouldnât they try to make every profit they could? Why the fuck is this an outrage?
Fuck the residents.

+1.
First it was two concerts. Realised they could make a further killing and added a third date. Then a fourth and a fifth. All without applying for a licence, never mind obtaining one.
They didnât give one fuck about the people affected - the residents - and Iâm actually pleased the âlittle guyâ in all this has won the battle. Gas seeing people fuming about the residents, made to feel like prisoners in their own home numerous times throughout the year and facing another 400k passing their front door roaring, littering and pissing everywhere. And they are meant to bend over and accept it?
Would be a nightmare of youâve flights/hotel etc booked but the blame lies with the promoter and the gombeen money men in Croke Park like Peter McKenna.

outrage?? I am not outraged.
a bit of balance and reason never goes astray in these things
put 2 concerts on at another GAA venue rather than 5 in a row at one venue. sure 5 in a row is hexed at croke park anyway - ask Kerry and Kilkenny!!
still loads money for GAA, promoters and Brooks if they went down this route. Why does everything have to go to Dublin anyway - as OâBrien said Springstein played several GAA venues. Send some of this great treasure chest of Brooks money to other cities and closer to all these fans travelling to the concerts from down the country.
This one has greed smacked all over it. Of course they are motivated by profit but they could have had plenty of it too if they had concerts elsewhere.
Garth says â5 or noneâ. Garth is not to be fucked with
Garth WILL win.
The GAA WILL win.
Fianna FĂĄil are gone.
The Church is gone.
The GAA abides. Remember that.
Always thought those Country western music fans were anti social
5 shows or none at all.
Singer Garth Brooks has issued a statement tonight in relation to the cancellation of two of his Croke Parks gigs, saying âfor us it is five shows or none at all.â
âI canât thank the people of Ireland enough for how welcome they have made me feel,â said Brooks in a statement issued through his PR representative, Nancy Seltzer.
âI have faith that Dublin City Council will make the best decision for the people of Ireland,â he added.
"For us, it is five shows or none at all.
"To choose which shows to do and which shows not to do, would be like asking to choose one child over another.
âHowever this plays out, Ireland has my heart and always will,â Brooks said.
The singerâs statement follow the granting of permission earlier today by Dublin City Council for only three out of five gigs in Croke Park at the end of this month.
An estimated 160,000 fans have been left devastated after licences were granted for three nights only, on July 25, 26 and 27.
Concerts on Monday and Tuesday night, July 28 and 29, were sensationally axed.
Residents had threatened legal action over the series of gigs after an initially announced two night run was extended to five.
In the ruling announced today â that can not be directly appealed but may be open to challenge in the courts â Dublin City Council ruled that a five-night run at Croke Park would cause unacceptable disruption to residents and traders around the stadium.
Croke Park is owned by the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA), which in a written agreement with local residents in 2009 agreed that the stadium would hold a maximum of three concerts per year - One Direction having already played three nights there in May.
Promoters Aiken Promotions have yet to make an official statement.
Suggestions the cancelled gigs could be switched to the Aviva stadium were dismissed as not feasible because of the sheer amount of equipment that would have to be moved.
Brooksâs career saw him named the number one selling solo artist in US history, shifting more than 128 million albums and receiving countless industry accolades.
However he turned his back on touring to raise his family in Oklahoma 13 years ago and his comeback sent ripples throughout his worldwide fanbase. It has also fuelled fevered rumours of a global tour.
how will all this pan out in the end lads
no concerts in croker
3 concerts in croker
5 concerts in croker

Iâll go with the five concerts to proceed but no concerts in Croke Park in 2015 and three a year from 2016 onwards.
How is this the first item on the newsâŚ
All the apes queuing all night for tickets have been mugged off
nail on the head
Says the man watching Prime Time about it and bitching online about it on two different forums.
My uncle will sort all this out. No one need worry. Not Garth, not the fans and not the residents.
not relevant. prime time had a feature on Anthony OâReilly and the nationâs finances as well. commenting and bitching on this forum about the concert doesnât mean it merits the main national news headline. whats hot here doesnât always = main newsheadline. if so the national news may as well be Limerick news
Tell us moreâŚ
Unfortunately I canât.
Secured a ticket to my beloved Mastodon in the academy in November tonight.
