Other than their wonderful cover of Head On I don’t see many connections with Jesus and Mary Chain.
Husker Du, Pere Ubu and Patti Smith are more obvious in my view but like all great bands they were very much their own thing.
I remember reading an interview with Joey Santiago in which he quoted The Ventures as an influence.
That should be an interesting gig.
