Add in Tramadole too. You’ll be floating
Youl be in no fit state to mind those kids for the week as well. It would be highly irresponsible of your life partner to leave them in your care. Tell her I said so
Sogn in @Bandage how you holding up?
I’m popping pills left, right & centre.
Had a dig at Andy Robertson that backfired spectacularly.
Enjoying this leaders’ debate.
Guys my mouth isn’t all that sore for the first time in 11 (eleven) days.
Thank God. I’ve been worried sick!
How much has this whole debacle cost you to date?
The first consultation with my own dentist was €60. The procedure with the dental surgeon to remove the offending wisdom tooth was free with VHI at source but I had to pay a €150 consultation fee. I think I get a few quid back on both of those. I’m back to my regular dentist next week to get a couple of standard fillings sorted. Very reasonable cost all told but crucial to have the aul private health insurance.
Not so bad, and a few pain-killers…
Uncomfortable weekend, started to get serious on Monday. I’d a few metzon… something or other antibiotics lying around. They staved off certain death until this morning. The dentist confirmed my diagnosis of an abscess by inflicting more pain before resorting to the x ray.
The decision was made to wait a few days for the antibiotics to work, then another decision was made to rip it otf. I got quite nauseous after the injections…the dentist said he would just apply a bit of pressure, to help him decide upon the best angle of attack. Pressure my arse. Out she came. The screaking, angular, harshness of the sound of pliers vs enamel vs jaw bone, will haunt me forever …even though i probably imagined it.
I was allowed to sit up long enough to drink some lucozade, the dentist had a sip himself. I’m not going to lie, I was a bit shakey on it for a few minutes…when the possibility of fainting faded we bade farewell.
I stumbled a bit crossing the road, then sat in the car for a while, went to get the prescription filled, bought co-codamol, horsed three into me and I’m starting to feel a lot better.
I imagine getting teeth pulled must be quite an ordeal for lesser men.
Yep, that’s what it’s like. Sounds like you should take a sip of MTFU the next time.
Dunno mate. The dentist gave me a lollipop…and i don’t see him handing them out to just about anyone
I was in the dentist this morning for a check up and clean. Was there a few minutes early so waiting in reception.
Woman comes out to pay and receptionist asks if they need to make a new appointment and woman responds she needs to come back in 12 months. Receptionist asks her what days might suit. Not sure she says. Will you send a reminder though.
Next man comes out and he says he needs to come back in 6 months and she says are you free 3 September. Yeah he says. I am at the moment.
How the fuck are people supposed to know what days they are free in a year ![]()

Two weeks max is about as far ahead as I’d ever know off the top of my head
This fashion of shiny white teeth from Turkey has to stop.
It’s scaring the bejasus out of me…

I went in to a new dentist on Tuesday. I was surprised I got an appointment so quick but anyway. They told me they don’t take PAYE for chrckup (usually it’s free). I said grand I just want them cleaned and no need for a check up. He brought me in and he told me I was in bother and that I would have to get 4 crowns done. I said I’m not in any pain.
Anyway he had me in such a tizzy I agreed to start treatment asap. Had a think about it and smelled a rat. Cunt has loads of appointments free and is mad to start so I rang him up and said I’m going for a second opinion and he tut tutted me. Got him to send me on the x ray.
Got in to a place today. Two fillings is all I need. That cunt would have got me to spend the guts of 3k when all that’s needed is 360.
Root canal there. Arrived late, thankfully they hadn’t started without me. Assistant is a stunner, dentist isn’t far behind…so i felt i had to pretend to be a proper man about the whole thing…i think i have them fooled. I’d a bit of a lump on my gum, dentist seemed a bit puzzled about why it wasn’t sore. I take this to mean I’m as good as dead, or at least I’ll probably need to have my entire jaw amputated?
Got a root canal a few months back. Was incredibly sore for a 4 days after it, but overnight then it was grand.
Thanks buddy, I’ll look forward to the anaesthetic wearing off
