Good luck with everything, Tony O’Donoghue

O’Neill is seething, rattled to within an inch of his life by a harmless borderline simpleton, he’s an embarrassment

TOD is seething. Rattled to within an inch of his life.

Did MON interpret the “hard luck “ comment as being smart Alecy / sarcastic ?

There was no “hard luck” versus Denmark as we were utterly destroyed . Hard luck was Thierry Henry in Paris and Eoin Hand in Brussels .

He pulled up TOD in the middle of asking about the next Denmark game to get this on the record, as if it was concrete proof of how unlucky Ireland had been. Odd stuff to be going on with.

Why did TOD have to mention the criticism after the last game at all? I could understand it if it was the few days leading up to the next game but bringing it up just after today’s draw was clearly just to irk O’Neill… These types of interviews are usually just fluff.

It was a fairly softball question, put across very neutrally. MON was going to go off anyway it seems from listening to it.

O neill is the delight of the snowflakes who simply adore taking umbrage early and often.
He’s become a bit of a bore in truth.

No, he was all nice before the interview then danced on his grave

It’s bad journalism to become part of the narrative, similar to Tom Humphreys and Saipan

Martin ONeill works part time for Eire soccer and is paid €1m a year.
Tony ODonoghue works full time as a reporter and is paid maybe €0.1m a year.

Its absolutely fascinating to observe the champagne socialists attack the ordinary man who is simply doing his job and take the side of the denis OBrien backed million pound man who is doing a very very poor job.

Fair play to him for not decking that cunt.

I appreciate that he’s from the United Kingdom, but when Martin O’Neill is in Eire, he would really want to show a bit of respect for the institutions of this State. Tony is an employee of the national broadcaster, providing a valuable public service and the very least licencee fee payers should expect is a bit of courtesy and good manner from our visitor Mr O’Neill. If O’Neill is getting paid a million or so a year (even if it is heavily subsidised by some lad over in Malta) at the very least he should be able to answer a few semi difficult questions.

These cunts are really circling the wagons. RTE should act fast.

Not sure why a journalist would say a bad word about TOD. He isn’t a journalist and his interviews occasionally give them something to write about

Dave Hannigan and Tony O’Donoghue are both from Cork. A fella I know maintains that most Cork people are savage insular and backward so perhaps Hannigan’s defence of O’Donoghue isn’t surprising.
