couldnt agree. been unfortunate that we have had some problems and a recent accident with one of the kids meant we had to go to a specialist to get an emergency surgery done. Getting the care in the private hospital made a big difference, and it wouldnt be something I’d take a chance on. whatever about myself, I wouldnt chance the kids.
But did you get anything you wouldn’t have gotten otherwise?
I’ve been through the system with a baby and she sent to Crumlin in an ambulance etc and private/public made no difference.
in one case no, was just Wexford hospital and referrals to Crumlin too.
but in the accident last week, most definitely. Ardkeen were trying to send us to a specialist in Vincents, and the specialist there was on odd shifts and not only could we not get in to get the surgery done, neither us, our GP or the doctors in Ardkeen could even get through to see when it could be done. The GP referred us to a specialist in the Beacon in the morning, and by 3pm that day, she had been in, had the surgery completed, by all accounts, one of the best surgeons to get to do the work. Covered by insurance. Follow up consultation wasnt, but fuck it, for the sake of €150 (that may be able to be refunded anyway) it was worth it to make sure she was ok. Was infinitely better going private and being covered by the insurance.
i was always under that impression too that it made no difference. our kid had an operation when she was a year old and it went swimmingly
Are you mad ??
My youngest un needed a specialist type scan last year, we were somehow sent to a public consultant by means of our GPs secretary omitting that we had private healthcare.
The specialist recommend this scan anyway, and we enquired about when it would take place, his receptionist shrugged and said anywhere after 6 months, I stated we had private … Oh right she said, we didn’t know that. Is 1:00pm tomorrow ok for you.
Wouldn’t be without it now.
Kiddies private is very, very cheap anyway.
We’re all mad to one degree or another.
Agree.
Bb has health insurance
The recession is officially over !
Have it for years buddy* €3,000 PA is nothing for the peace of mind to ensure the very best of care is available for your kids.
Maybe if you get a proper job you could think about it.
- not a buddy. I absolutely detest you. Cunt.
I think it’s only €300 per kid with Laya. Wouldn’t be without it.
Oh, your credibility is in tatters again!
3,000 for your kids you claim
I thought it was odd that bb has kids.
Even odder that he could afford health insurance
Right. That was downright stupid and not funny the first time you posted it.
Why would it change if you post it again ?
Don’t answer btw. I’m in a nice semi - drunken haze now. That’s the only reason I initially acknowledged your existance on tfk. I already deeply reget replying to you. Now do us all a favour and fuck off and land yourself into the shannon, anywhere south of Johns bridge, with a heavy weight strapped securely to your person.
The bb is all done.
Night night little guy😄
Not sure what kids element of our policy comes in at. I think less then €300 for each of them with Aviva. I have them on a way better policy than myself and Mrs Bradley.
I was listening to driveline there and they’d a feature on a report commissioned by the Irish cancer society about waiting lists and they were giving out the private patients can access scans and treatment a lot quicker than public patients.
Now while I’d have every sympathy for anyone who’s misfortunate to be ill isn’t that the idea of paying private ? To make sure you’re getting seen quickly and by the best people.
The lad from the cancer society was nearly begrudging the patients who can skip the queue.
Isn’t that exactly why we pay private healthcare? Why would anyone bother otherwise?
I see I basically copied what you were thinking.
Edit: It really annoys me when people who don’t pay for private healthcare give out about things like this.
That’s exactly the question I was asking the board @Rintintin.
It’s after getting lots of airtime today and nobody has stated that you should be entitled to get the best care if you pay for it.
I suppose people mightn’t want to get involved when it’s cancer that’s being mainly discussed.
