The 96 killed were completely innocent, they were in no way responsible for their own deaths. The football culture in the U.K. at the time was for fans to turn up late and ticketless and pissed - are you telling me every single Liverpool fan that day (not talking about those killed) was sober and in good time and in possession of a ticket? Every single one? Come off it. I don’t care what any political whitewash or any “independent commission” chaired by the Bishop of Liverpool says. That was the culture at the time, fans of every club engaged in it and were treated like scum by the police. It was just a catastrophic chain of events that day that brought it all to a head. The police no doubt contributed to it and I’m sure it’ll all come out in court.

Why are you bringing up this drunk and ticketless argument when it has been proven without any doubt that this had absolutely no part in the events that occurred?!

Duckenfield himself was asked about this back in 2015. He said that he disagreed with the assertion made by the questioner that drunken fans had no act or part in what happened. He was asked if he had evidence for this and he said he didn’t. It was a last attempt by the slimeball to deflect blame from himself but like the rest of his ‘evidence’ it wasn’t backed up.

My issue is just the hypocrisy in how Heysel is commemorated in comparison. That was equally as tragic but hasn’t generated even 1% of the coverage of Hillsborough. Where’s the campaign for justice for the 39? Why is that almost forgotten about in comparison? Is a dead Italian the same as a dead Scouser? Why are Liverpool and their fans so eager to overlook that night or seek forgiveness when they adopt such a hardline, unforgiving stance toward The Sun newspaper, to give one example. Heysel is the dirty little secret they barely acknowledge while at the same time understandably looking for “justice” for an equally tragic event. That’s my issue.

Of course it was tragic but there wasn’t a mass cover up of what happened which lead directly to the top of the cops and perhaps MPs.

Just because Liverpool fans were involved in Heysel, doesn’t mean that the public at large (including the families that died) cannot be abhorred by the carry on at Hillsboro where 96 lives were recklessly lost by pure mismanagement by the cops and then the powers that be, including the media, group together to tell lies about what happened.

I’d say we won’t see @dodgy_keeper on here for a while until this has blown over. He might even have to forego a cut off rugby when the Lions lose on Satruday morning this is such a serious error of judgment on his part. He has offended not just Liverpool fans but all right minded people
