Holiday destinations for the lone traveller
Cheers mate. I’m going with herself so unlikely I’ll be availing of hookers but good to know anyway. I couldn’t find the right thread.

It’s close to Vienna and Budapest so tempted to trying and get two cities in.
And people say the tourism benefit of hosting the Eurovision is overstated

Cheap flights into Bratislava mate. I’m not overly pushed on Bratislava I was just wondering as I don’t know much about it.
I enjoyed Prague but it’s full of fucking stags, I’m told* Bratislava is like Prague was before the stags.

*Some article I read online

I stayed in Mornington house back in may and met a well travelled dairy farmer and his wife who were from just outside tipp town. They had been all over the world and he maintained that Montana/Wyoming was the most beautiful place he had ever been.

4 hours or so on the train to Budapest. To be honest, I’ve been in both cities and Budapest is far nicer. If you are doing two cities, then I would allocate more time to Budapest. There is far more to see there. Bratislava has the castle and the old town is nice but there’s fuck all else to it. Once you go outside the old town, it is an industrial wasteland. Don’t mind Choco either-a confident guy like yourself will have no issues there, particularly in Bratislava. Loads of pickpockets and scam artists in Budapest but you just need to be sensible. There is a mountain (very, very big hill) in the middle of Budapest. You should climb that then have a beer in the big beer garden they have at the top of it. I must warn you though-the women of Hungary are amazing and you will get caught staring open jawed a number of times by your missus but such is life. Fuck it I’d love to go back there now. When are you going? I might look into flights.

Forgot to say, stay the fuck out of Austria. Fucking paedos.

I was in Budapest last year (see City Breaks thread, @Julio Geordio). I found it a very nice place. You’d need no more than 3 nights there though.

Is there a story here pal?

Yes Austria is full of Nazi cunts and paedos. A horrible country and horrible people.

Big sky country,I worked with a lad from s.dakota he was telling me about some old steam train you can get through that part of the world down to california,I was getting geared up to go but life got in the way, sounded class,I’ll get there some day,be careful though I seen a documentary about wyoming apparently it’s full of gay cowboys

I should be ok unless someone out there has a fetish for a clapped out oul lad with a peg leg.

Cheers Gents, I can fly into Bratislava and out of Budapest for €200 so I might explore that option further.

Austria is a lovely spot in the summer. Flew into Bratislava, rented a car and drove to Vienna and stayed for a few days doing the usual tourist things, then drove across to Salzburg via Malthausen on the way. Salzburg is top class. All the ski lifts are still operating to allow you explore the mountains and ex-Nazi stuff like the Eagle’s Nest. Great city to also go out in.

Would agree on Salzburg. Did a loop there Munich- Salzburg-Nuremberg- Munich. Could live the rest of my life without seeing Nuremberg again, but Munich and Salzburg were worth visiting.
