Holiday destinations for the lone traveller

@Bandage

How about a tour of the Nordic Countries? Denmark, Norway & Sweden. Beautiful landscapes, water-sports, outdoor activities, cruises, railway journeys & jaw dropping Fjords.

Plus an ogle of the blonde haired local females is always nice.

Do it. Week or more in the nam, siam reap for a few days, then thailand for as long as you can. Decent amount of culture and experiences mixed with comfortable resort living at times and great weather and scenery. You also struck me as better than these mugs who go to some insect infected kip and soldier through two weeks of diarrhoea before announcing out of pure exasperation that some waterfall makes great viewing. Horseshit, you wanna see a waterfall, go to toronto, live it up, drive to niagara and back in a day, continue to live it up.

Thailand is shite.

Vietnam is great. Went on holidays in Japan for a couple of weeks too. Amazing place but quite intense in the cities. Well worth a visit though.

disagree

I see what you did there

I spent a week in Japan a couple of years ago. Thoroughly enjoyed it. May I particularly recommend the historic and scenic city of Kyoto.

I’d agree with Kyoto. Excellent.

yes i drove from Portland Oregon along the Colombia Valley all the way to Minneapalis St. Paul in August 2005 in a SUV.
Heady days

agreed
Bangkok is the most disgusting place i have ever been in
The people are horrible also, horrid sneaky smiling cunts
a disgusting hole of place is all it is

kuta in bali is a great spot
wall to wall with hookers and white trash aussie knackers
just make sure you take seriously the form on AirAsia when you enter Indonesian airspace and all foreigners are asked to sign a form agreeing that possession of drugs can be punishable by death.
Kuta is full of drugs, loads of gooks going around saying " ecstacy. marijuana, cocaine"… dangerous shit

Anyone able to recommend any towns/villages for holiday in Sicily? Flying to Palermo in a few weeks but not a clue where to go yet.

Taormina - Jim Kerr of Simple Minds had/has a hotel there

That’s an awful long way from where I’m flying to mate.

@Phil_Leotardo

Would you not hire a camper van and drive over to it?

Spent some time in Noto and Syracuse on our honeymoon. Very nice if a bit quiet. A long way from Palermo however. Are you going on your own?

No with the lady friend @Fran and need to figure out where the fuck I’m going to go fairly lively. An Italian friend had offered me use of her family’s holiday home but her father has been seriously ill so can’t follow that one up so that has been knocked on the head. I now need to figure out a spot to go and book somewhere.

Try this website http://www.justsicily.co.uk/home/

We stayed in an Agriturismo place outside of Noto. A lot of them are fairly remote but you can get a really nice spot for decent price compared to the mad money you’ll pay in Taormina for a generic Honeymoon style hotel. Rent a car and you’ll be able to tip around wherever you want during the day.
