I’d love to try out a 10 euro scone.
I like a nice scone :man_shrugging:

My mother makes a fantastic scone. I’d say she’d lash out 50 of them for a tenner

I’d have no meas in a 20c scone though :man_shrugging:

Brother was in there for lunch today with his other half, €49 pp for a 3 course meal, didn’t sound to outrageous tbh.

I’ve been in their for a friends birthday recently and it’s grand. It’s expensive. I don’t think it’s really being targeted at the general public.

The food is nice in that Mike Ryan’s place but Christ it was dead both Friday nights I was in there.

Mikey Ryan’s is for Instagram weirdos who pist photos of their food for likes.

(I take it for granted that we are all weirdos here when we post photos of our food for likes)

Avoca do lovely scones. We used to go up to get one after the parkrun in the days when we had time for a parkrun…
They do a whopper pear and almond scone that was the size of 3 scones. Cream and raspberry jam. Fuck me they were delicious.

Are they a tenner?

No. Far from it. Even pricey ass malahide places cant charge that. Roasters pretending they’re fancy are the only people who will pay that.

I paid a hundred quid last night for olives, garlic bread, 4 pizzas, 2 Aperol spritzes, 2 glasses of rose (large), and 2 pints of craft lager/ale.

I was very full.

Ah here ffs. You’d get 4 scones in a bag in Lidl for €1.50. A pot of jam possibly another
€1.50 and the few drops of tea would round out the €5.00. Thieving fuckers.
But Hey! They’ll continue with their pricing and get away with it…

Its a 5 Star Hotel old stock, any lad going in there is going in with the desire to be rammed. Complaining about a 5 Star Hotel being expensive is like lamenting the fact that Dublin is full of junkies. Its a fact of life, you shouldnt be surprised by it.
