I see the Government have extended the 9% VAT rate for these gouging bastards.

I priced a hotel in Dublin for a Saturday night recently. €440 for a room in the Marlin, which has rooms the size of postage stamp.

I was looking at Cork city in June and family rooms were coming back at €1,000 for Saturday and Sunday night!

I’ve also noticed hotels with ridiculously long cancellation periods.

Happened to me a while back when we couldn’t travel due to one of group having Covid

This is next Saturday night, granted it’s sorted by “Recommended”.
Sorting by price you won’t get a decent city centre hotel for under €260 and the vast majority are €300 +.
