These were serious flapjacks.
“Mary, get them children out of there and throw a blanket down across that back seat, there’s flapjacks that need loading”
A fine hike back over the Conor Pass sure, you’d be spoiled with the scenery.
Dingle has the finest flapjacks in the world.
They’re missing a trick not having a big sign advertising that fact as you drive in
200 euro is best available rate for two (180 ex breakfast) for Denyse’s hotel (Maldron Hotel, Dublin Airport) on a cold, wet Thursday night in November. While not off the charts price-wise, I’d still struggle to call it “great value”
Exactly. Your man is lying.
The lad in Sligo blaming the Dubs and he charging fifty quid for a steak.
Heard the a few caterers for the Galway races had a lot of unused stock after an underwhelming race week in Galway.
The days of pissing down someone’s back and telling them it’s great value are coming to an end.
Wouldn’t entertain a night away here anymore, day trip or weekend abroad.
Crowds were down 9% from 2019 and nearly 50% from 2006. The ban on turf cutting having a dreadful impact, the traditional reward of a day at the races if the turf is home now null and void.
The split season has made a bags of it. Hang Larry McCarthy I say.
You’re right. It is a proper hotel. They’ve thought of everything to make the guests as comfortable as possible. Factor 30 left at the door in the lobby so the pasty Paddies don’t get scorched on the grounds.
Stayed in the Falls Hotel near Lahinch last week, lovely hotel and grounds but the staff were a bit shite. Old school hotel but food was very average.
We dropped into Garryvoe Hotel for lunch - came to 100 euros for four with a couple of drinks for painfully average food. Service wasn’t great and they decided to seat us, a family with two kids, right next to two women enjoying their tea and both of them loudly complained about it to each other until we asked to move to another table.
Nice pizza food van at the beach though.
At Fota now, very good so far.
@myboyblue or anyone who knows…The Heritage Hotel in Killenard (spelling?). Its website mentions it has a 5km walking track. Is this reliable information? And could a guest avail of it for running?
Yes and yes. It’s top notch, circles the golf course, so you’ll have to put up with seeing those shower of Cunts but apart from that you’ll be the grandest.
Lovely, thanks.
