Are wasps on the way out?
Maybe I am imagining it but it seems to me that their numbers have reduced dramatically the past few years.

Haven’t seen one all summer.
Have seen only that myself, what’s going on? Kev can maybe explain it?
Very cold spring wiped out a load of wasp queens as they emerged from hibernation. According to Ray Darcy there this morning. Hence there are more flies as the wasps prey on the flies.
I was out in the garden last year half asleep in the sun. Beside the patio are some steps made of railway sleepers. There was a small pile of sawdust at the bottom of one, just below a join. Next thing is a big creepy looking yolk stuck its head out of a small hole just above the sawdust, and starts throwing more out into the pile. When I went closer it was a fucking huge wasp with coloured spots on its head. It must have been a queen starting a new nest. As I was contemplating this, I was hunkered down beside the hole, when another ordinary wasp flew in carrying with it a dead fly, which it proceeded to push into the hole, presumably to feed the queen. It was near the place where the kids play out, so Im ashamed to say I fed the queen a whole can of raid shortly thereafter which has , for now at least, sorted the problem.
There seems to be a huge amount of moths about as well, more than usual?
Yea, wasps eat flies and moths.
Saw one tackling a butterfly one day. Only one winner there.
Loads of bumblebees around last month. I wonder is that related?
I had a load of fruit flies (flies anyway) in my brown bin so I bought a tarantula and he lives in the brown bin now
There is surely a song in that.
I just sprayed a load of raid into mine. Worked a treat. Killed all the maggots in there as well
If that was the queen and you stuck your head near her you were damn lucky it wasn’t ate off you. They turn ferocious if you threatened the queen , swarm attack , no joke !

There was a kunt of a one here in Barefield today , the fucking dirty rotten bastard got inside the leg of my shorts while I was mowing the lawn. Bastard
You’re some cunt mowing the lawn on a Sunday. Doing it to harass that French neighbour, I suppose.
Don’t think she saw me. Wouldn’t fancy getting swarmed by wasps. I’d say they were only starting out. It was the other lad carrying the fly back to her that I found remarkable.
The stripey men are after moving into my house. In behind the soffit, the cunts.
Their numbers have increased over the last few days and we keep all of the windows on that side of the house closed now. I’m not good working at heights, do I wait it out until the winter time to seal it up or do I do something about it now?
Have you tried sticking your thumb up your hole?
Failing that, douse the nest in petrol, a decent amount, maybe a gallon, and set it on fire.
