Anybody who knows anything about defending knows that McInerney has just had two excellent matches, to go with the great games he had up to the AI.
The guy should be a stone cold cert on the All Star team. The guy is a very intelligent player and hard as nails to boot.
Regarding Nash, leaving aside his scoring, his goal keeping wasnât particularly better than the other two leading contenders and in the drawn match, he was part of a puck out strategy that was destroyed. Do you place a lot of value on his free taking? I do, but have a nagging feeling about rewarding his approach to 21s. On balance, he should get the all star.
His puck outs were the difference in the Dub game along with three long range frees.
thereâs a load of hyperbole about Nash at the moment, pucking the ball out to a team mate ffs? that is his bread and butter, does he want a medal for it? he let in 5 goals in the All Ireland final, that is what he will always be remembered for
Ah come on now chewy, you could hardly say he did very well against Waterford. He settled a bit in the second half but if thatâs the level of a very good performance then it doesnât take much to play well. Everytime the ball went into Shanahan in the 1st half he had him in bother. The difference between that and McCarthy/Harnedy was that the first 2 or 3 balls that went in between them Harnedy looked to have him in trouble but Richie got to grips with it and was collosul for the last 20 while cork were well on top.

Ollie Walsh considered by many as the greatest ever goalkeeper conceded 6 goals in the 1963 All Ireland Final.
In Pat Nolanâs defence, Wexford were just completely overrun in that 197o All Ireland Final. It was a radically different Wexford team that lined out in the All Ireland Final than that which had dethroned All Ireland champions Kilkenny in the Leinster Final with three of their best players Willie Murphy, Phil Wilson and Ned Buggy out injured and a fourth Tom Neville was prevailed upon to play despite suffering from a heavy flu.
