Went to one of the Maple Leafs development teams games when they made the playoffs last May it was good craic but 80% of the goals come for these goal mouth scrambles where the goalie makes a save and then they all pile in and you canât see whats going on. Funny that most of the locals are split between hating the leafs and being fanatical about them. They hate them because I think theyâre the richest franchise but theyâre always rubbish and they absolutely rape you on ticket prices you canât get in to see them for under about $200
How quickly everyone is forgetting the epic darts match in Luxembourg this week. Everything else is secondary.

Welcome to the ancient Irish game of hurling, arguably the fastest contact sport played on grass. Hopefully the Gaelic Athletic Association will do all sports fans everywhere a massive favour and produce DVD copies of this memorable game, where Clare emerged victorious. As Premier League soccer is again soiled with prima donna antics â see the scratch-and-send-off controversy of Torres at Spurs at the weekend â the hand-eye co-ordination and the courage and commitment of Cork and Clare were a shining example of sportsmanship.

Fuck it. A few tourists might bump up the attendances at some of the games. Someone write an article saying the Walsh Cup is super important and get them to print it. Bullshiteing your way to selling tickets worked for the rugby crowd anyway.
Thereâs massive potential for developing the Walsh Cup as a brand.
Pronouncing it as the âWelsh Cupâ would give it a real international flavour. Then itâs just a short step to its inevitable expansion into the World Series of Hurling.
If weâre after the international audience we should think about renaming the teams as countries too. Clare can be Brazil, Tipp can be Israel, Galway can be Syria etc.

Kilkenny will be Germany. Brilliant, ruthless, efficient, but with none of the love, passion or emotion displayed by lesser teams.
Cork will be China. With their massive pick it wonât be long before they become the dominant superpower and there are already signs that they wield huge power in the system anyway through the guiding hand of Chairman Frank.
