the āso called weaker countiesā like wexford know their place
you must be fairly bored this morning Mickee, youāre all over the board today baiting!
why cant we go back to 4 divisions of 8 teams?
we have 32 counties FFS, its the most obvious thing to do if you want a fair league,
no wonder little englanders like @Rudi make fun of the GAA, in this case its almost justified
My understanding of this is 4 teams are graded A, 4 teams graded B, 4 teams grade C. Based on the league last year:
A: Kilkenny, Galway, Tipperary, Waterford
B: Clare, Dublin, Limerick, Cork
C: Wexford, Offaly, Laois, Antrim
Then you could end up with
One Group: Kilkenny, Galway, Clare, Dublin, Wexford, Offaly
One Group: Tipperary, Waterford, Limerick, Cork, Laois, Antrim
For example, Where in Group One
Galway play Kilkenny, Clare, Dublin, Wexford, Offaly & also Tipperary, Waterford
While Wexford would play Kilkenny, Galway, Clare, Dublin, Offaly & Laois & Antrim
The top two go through to the semi finals, while the bottom them in each group to to a play off?
Is this correct?
Seems very unfair if this is correct?
Thatās it exactly. Its a handicap system with C graded counties getting a bit of help. Ah, itās a splendid innovation.
@Hisenberg, Laois would be crazy not to go for this. Itās nothing but positive for them.

As called by Mark Renton a few weeks ago, A league of handicaps.
He actually announces that in public? His day is done, in Cheddar we trust.

A handicap making it easier for weaker teams like Laois and Offaly, and harder for teams like Kilkenny and Tipp, is an excellent innovation. Not unfair.
Were the motions to change the league structure defeated today?
Yes
Same league format as last year.
Is the exact same or are there tweaks?
I really liked the idea of the new system. Think it would have been great to promote the sport and improve all teams. Would have been a bit unsettled if it had gone through as it would have looked like a fop to cork. Hopefully it comes in at some stage down the line.
What a load of fucking shit.
How was this decision reached
By vote.
The proposed seeded set up looked like a seriously good system, so obviously that didnāt get the required approval. I know the vote was lost 19-17 but is there a county-by-county vote breakdown? Did any of the major counties object to the fact that their fixture list would be more difficult than the āBā and āCā graded counties?
Delighted with this. Fuck the league, itās a crock of shiteā¦ Limerick and Dublin showed it didnāt matter a fuck when they walked all over Tipp and KK respectively last year.
I canāt wait to welcome Limerick to Wexford Park early next year after our wonderful draw in the Gaelic Grounds in this yearās competition.
This was one of my main gripes really, potentially losing this fixture would have left a bitter taste in my mouth.
I still think that 1A and 1B is a shit set up with some teams only getting 2 home games. This new system would have been spot on with a meaningful amount of matches and it would have been good for promoting the game. Instead weāll have teams getting the required match practice in behind closed door challenge matches that only simpletons like @twiceasnice97 hear about.
