I envy the man that doesn’t understand the privilege that is watching a hurling match when Cork are one of the teams playing.The magic of that red jersey and all that it stands for.From Billy Mackesy to Ringy to JBM to Sean Og to Seamus Harnedy.All that history and heritage and all the great men that wore that red jersey over the years.Cork hurling is a passion that has burned brightly since 1888 and beyond.You can’t beat hurling.The marketing people at Munster rugby can never replicate the real raw and genuine passion that is the hurling championship.

Ha ha. No. A kk man who is unfailingly decent but who has a large flaw in that he thinks kk have a god given right to win everything always, and always has a plausible reason why not( harsh red card or gaa central council vendetta or somesuch). He told me that they were tearing into each other in training and would give everyone a right shock this year. I’d love to call him a bollix, but he is one of the nicest people you could ever wish to meet.
