Hurling League 2014
If true it’s hilarious. This they’ll do anything for me will wear thin pretty quick.
I noted the LIT victory was all about him again.
Yip, fellas will only stick that type of thing for so long, no matter how committed they are.

I think he puts those rumours out there like Loughnane used to do - say they are doing crazy stuff in training to try and get under the skin of other teams/deflect attention.

@TreatyStones would really have fooled everybody if it turns out he is an old woman. It’s about as believable that mickee is after fathering a child and isn’t a homosexual living a lie.

Oh hold on, I might have got that mixed up.

why would you do that?

when did he win matchs on his own? You might be confusing hurling with him cycling around the place.

You could be right but he does come off as seeing it as all about him. It’s clear to me he has to"remember" to talk about the players in interviews, they are not always first and foremost.

you’re a fuckin turnip…he gave his all for Clare and moved on when the interest went…a carrot cruncher like yourself couldn’t begin to understand what Griffin is trying to do now with his life …that’s what happens when you are stuck living in the same townland all your life…farmhand

I can confirm that @TreatyStones is telling the truth but it may not have been after the KK… Was talking to a Bridge man earlier and it’s one of Davy’s well trusted tools to motivate lads- Don’t turn up to do it, don’t turn up at all again.

It’s a useful tool in a very particular circumstance with a team as a whole. Doing it individually is pointless, but doing it to the hurler of the year in February when he is hurling Fitzgibbon as well seems just a little indulgent and plain stupid.
If it’s true.
I can see Clare putting in a huge performance early in Munster but getting blown away later on cos they peaked too early/lost a bit of bite.

Like I said they chap wasn’t sure if he did it as recently as the KK game, but he has done it plenty of times in the past.

Clare will win Munster and lose the semi.

hurling really isnt that important when you think about it, especially the sacrifices that Griffen made for an actual cause that you might need some day, you’re some scumbag badmouthing him on here, take that shit to kstand and the lads on the other forum who is at it all the time.
@Bisto has called you out here, i can imagine you cursing 14 year olds in your filthy Pat O’Donnell jacket and abusing a young fella for not training as he has a leaving cert in a few months and telling him some shit about the real reward is croke park in august but by 30 he’ll be joining you shovelling shit, by 50 he’ll be thinking of jumping into the slurrey pit…

anyway the real point is only be deluded or the damned will be playing intercounty hurling in a few years if these “sacrifices” as you put it are required…

Offaly legend Liam O’Connor who passed away a few months ago was a bouncer in Club 92 in Leopardstown.

Spare a thought for athletics and the lads training 14 times a week for 10k a year in government grants. Training a lot harder than a Clare hurler as well.

Sport should be more than about money but the demands of the inter county game mean only teachers and students can play it. Very few jobs allow somebody to knock off at 4.30pm 3 times a week to go training.

3 teams a week is one thing but 13 times a week is something else entirely
