Paudie Maher should be an automatic
Doubling down at it’s finest.
I think the most glaring omission is Kyle Hayes. 4 other Limerick men on it who are all outstanding, with another 3 on the bench, but in my opinion Hayes is the best of all of them
The Rock doesn’t even seem to be that interesting a character. The most memorable thing about him was a piece on Up For The Match where his mother said she worries about him getting hurt on the pitch. That and the shoulders obviously.
He’s only 26, I’d say he’ll have cemented his place on it in another few years.
Id say noel Hickey has the most all Irelands and maybe even the most all stars playing at full back from the years in question. And it’s a fairly specialised position.
Heading for a few work drinks shortly and the crew have no interest in hurling so I’ll be the anti social one and ruminate on this in the corner while availing of the complimentary beer.I have to say the big one I have issue with is full back: no Richie McCarthy no party:joy:
Do any of you have the article from Brehony in the independent on Tuesday?
Damien Fitzhenry would’ve been a more suitable token Wexford gesture on the bench. Especially given the fact that he played until the end of the 2009 season.
I’d say Darragh Ryan was a better all round full back than the Rock and never really gets a mention in these things.
Fantastic hurler but probably lacks the longevity of others mentioned here. A later developer than the norm.
Eoin Larkin completely blackguarded
Some hurler but no Hego.
You wouldn’t mind one on each wing.
The Rock
Correct
Murphy is better than Quaid… And don’t even start on Patrick Horgan. Cody would have benched him years ago
Murphy a better shot stopper. Quaid a better pucker outer and game manager for me.
