And it would be pretty feasible to clamp down on both of those two. Just enforce the rules and make it abundantly clear to players and management at all levels that refs will call anything borderline or they are unsure of as a foul and put the onus back in players

Looking at keeping three players inside the 45 is completely unnecessary too. Hurling isn’t completely constipated with packed defences the way football was. It’s completely pointless.

Make it default it’s a throw unless you see clear striking action and gap between hand and ball before contact. Will soon correct when we have a free every 30 seconds.
Making the ball heavier also will help a lot.

I disagree. I think you have way more rucks of players can’t release the ball.
I think diving is the biggest issue in hurling at present. But I think it’s lunacy that people are on about changing rules after a “bad year”
I would 100% prefer a ruck to lads sauntering up the field unopposed throwing the ball to each other

Completely agree but the will doesn’t seem to be there so I’d take a rule change if they won’t just enforce the rule as it is

If they don’t try and do something about steps, it’s an absolute waste of time.
Saw a good few club matches at the weekend and most refs haven’t the slightest interest in blowing for steps and players know it. It’s actually getting worse year on year.
The handpass issue isn’t anywhere near the blight that steps is. It is the root of most of the problems.
2-point sideline shouldn’t even be entertained, that would be farcical.
Also a 4-point goal for a black card offence doesn’t seem necessary either. The black card is already a very severe punishment.

Why the big opposition to the 2 point sideline ? Its not like there’s going to be a heap of them scored every game. Just rewarding a good piece of skill
It’ll slow the game down as specialists will waddle up or down the field, go through a whole fucking routine.

A black card should force the replacement of the offending player plus a penalty.
Get rid of the black card. It’s not really needed. It’s too prevalent and you have donkeys like Duignan calling for it every time there is contact inside the 21 yard line. The black card was brought in to root out cynical fouls but its now been used for all fouls.
No surprise to see a man from a county who favours grappling want rid of a method to combat grappling
The problem with the Black Card is it only applies to some counties and not others.

Limerick got done in Cork in 2024 in order to keep Cork in the championship and the black card wasn’t seen again for 2 years
