I have lost interest in

You have a real point but there is a ferocious needy element in Irish sport . The rugby , the LOI with the “greatest league in the world “ shite , the GAA thinking they have some monopoly in virtue , the ROI soccer “greatest fans in the wuddold “ , Munster rugby and its working class roots . The hurling talk can be insufferable .

The whole thing is utterly cringe . At this stage I get more enjoyment watching Desmond league soccer and club GAA.

Croke Park has sat back and watched hurling die, all they care about it ringfencing the traditional counties and extracting as much coin from it as possible.

I think that’s ironic mate

as a bona fide ‘hurling man’ the best thing you can do is step back from all the bullshit and the bullshit artists and support your club, you escape an awful lot of wankers that way and it guarantees that you avoid bandwagoners
the only indulgence id allow myself is Oirish rubby and thats only because its a 32 county non bigotted organisation so i can relate to them

The debates about the relative merits and popularity of different sports.

A brave post indeed. There are only a few of us left who care deeply about the gga and even we must admit the death knell has now sounded for hurling

Local GAA is much more entertaining and fulfilling than intercounty nowadays. A significant bandwagong element involved in attending intercounty games and also a significant amount of those who attend intercounty games would not be caught dead in their local GAA field.

so are cricket, rugby league, hockey ,tennis, sailing etc etc

you need to flesh out your reason about the rubby team mate as that point doesn’t stand out in isolation

those activities simply dont interest me as, so you wont find me posting 600 times a week about any of them one way or the other. an awful lot of the idle bozos here could learn something from me in that regard.
in truth i havent time for them but im happy they are 32 county non bigotted activities and wish them luck.

you have a point there
i know we flogged it on here before but say the christy ring cup, even say the 2A final at the weekend
why arent these played before say big games ? the whole christy ring series played out on random saturday afternoons in may with final on another Saturday afternoon in june, a triple header mind you…
Play the christy ring final before an all ireland semi and do away with those awful minor or u-17 or intermediate games or what not they have
the NHL final, why cant the div1 and div2 ir 2a as the GAA call it be played in croker on the same day? gave those lads a game, something to aim for
play those nicky rackard games before say an USFC of CSFC games when there is a crowd around, get people to see the games, i dont know, maybe there is a reason for this and they want these mathces hidden away and have the intercounty season for say meath done and dusted by the end of may

U think ure not being bigoted by supporting players that have GSTQ as their national anthem? U think ure not being racist by supporting a pro apartheid organisation? lolzers.

an awful lot of very very stupid cunts have come and gone from here fair play to you for hanging round.

Just to clarify - your view is that any Irish lad supporting a premier league team (or Scottish domestic league) is bigoted as a result of supporting players on that team whose anthem is GSTQ.

Informative

That man has a thing about people singing gstq. He probably has it as his ring tone.
In whatever new Ireland we find ourselves in there will be those who sing gstq and consider it their anthem. Leave them be, respect their tradition even if you don’t like or appreciate it, and accommodate all.

Nope that wasn’t my point. Any person born within the island of Ireland with GSTQ as their national anthem are generally bigoted.

very interesting point there, where does these bone idle wasters get the time to post about a sport they hate 750 times every week?

this is probably the thickest post ever on here

‘God save our Taoiseach and first minister’ would be a great anthem for the rubby team and all 32 county teams.

I would expect someone with your intelligence to see the contradictions of having GSTQ as your national anthem while playing for “Ireland”. I have no problem with them having it as their national anthem. However, the sight of these lads biting their tongues as the opposition sing the same national anthem is very bizarre.

… and this is probably your most coherent.
