Ibrahim Halawa

We’ve been sold a pup… The bleeding hearts set the narrative again here despite the facts pointing to the contrary. I’ve been rightly mugged off by these towel headed bastards.

This is hugely embarrassing for Leo Varadkar, why were Fine Gael lobbying for his release?

Why were you his biggest supporter here you dirty rotten bastard?

I never supported Leo Varadkar you cunt :rage:

You should be stoned to death for supporting terrorism

I think erdogon is a dangerous individual and it’s a pity the coup failed. What do you think of people who support erdogon and his actions? If the coup had succeeded would you have been supportive of people going over to Turkey to protest? Sure they have the right too but would you question that person’s motives and values? Are they not open to criticism?

Erdogan should have been shot dead on the spot when they had the chance

Critical thinking is something sadly lacking in the the media and broader society these days, which is why it’s so important that writers like Humphrys challenge the mainstream narrative. If one relied on the reporting from Irish media sources on this case, one would never know the Muslim Brotherhood connections of the Halawa family. Which begs the question, why are the Irish media refusing to cover this central aspect of the case?

The left in Ireland and worldwide have zero credibility on the Islamist question. Any criticism of Islamism is immediately and blindly labelled as Islamophobia and racist. The attitude of the left is lets cover our ears and pretend Islamist and Muslim are synonymous. They are most certainly not. Islamists are a subset of Muslims who hate western civilization, hate Christians, hate Atheists, hate women, hate Jews, and hate Muslims who don’t agree with them. The Muslim Brotherhood are the historical and contemporary leaders of Islamist ideology, there is simply no getting away from that.

Islamist ideology is completely counter to western civilization and secular society and should be opposed by everyone who has any understanding of personal freedom, regardless of their political leanings.

The why though bud. It’s because of US imperialism.

US military action is definitely a big factor why so many muslims becoming radicalised, as is their refusal to condemn the main instigator, Saudi Arabia, but the ideology that extremists like the Halawas group, the Muslim Brotherhood, espouses is not ‘remove the occupier’ it’s a desire to implement Sharia Law throughout the world.

very true bud. The US though are more culpable for the situation than the mental Arabs.

Sad to see people spend their whole lives looking for excuses to hate brown people. It’s just skin pigment ffs.

This a different shade of brown…

Fire up the few examples you have of it on this thread

It’s also noticeable that the most virulent racists on here are emigrants who work at menial jobs abroad.

Lots of self-loathing going on with these guys.

What racism? have you any examples?

Is this more deflection for those Muslim Brotherhood savages?

It’s very childish carry-on.
The facts are not difficult to find they are all over this thread. Ignoring them and calling Racism is not very mature.

Who are they?

Ibrahim Halawa and his sisters had been in Egypt since late June 2013, before the time of the coup, so they were not going over to protest anything. They went to the country of their parents for the summer, just as countless children of Irish parents have spent summers in Ireland. They’d done this numerous times.

But as you you say, even if they had been gone to Egypt to protest politically, they still wouldn’t have been doing anything wrong.

What we have had on this thread, is people ascribing beliefs and motives to Halawa, based entirely on speculation.

They are using these ascribed beliefs to question or indeed deny his innocence.

Let’s just say, for hypothetical argument’s sake, he believed all homosexuals should be burned at the stake. That still wouldn’t change his innocence.

Believing something, however abhorrent, is not illegal without action.

What we’ve seen on this thread is an rather alarming belief on the part of multiple posters that justice should only be issued to people who have similar beliefs and worldviews to these posters. And these posters don’t even have to know what the beliefs of the defendant are - branding them as having certain views is enough to deny their innocence.

You couldn’t get further away from “western beliefs” than that. That’s North Korea-esque.
